Thursday NBA Games to Target for NBA DFS
Here are the two best games to target for NBA DFS fantasy production today, Thursday, January 30.
Lakers vs. Wizards: Preview, Pick
Time: 7 p.m. ET
How to Watch: NBA League Pass
The Lakers (26-19) will go up against the Wizards (6-40). Lakers C Anthony Davis will be out for at least a week after suffering an abdominal strain against the 76ers on Tuesday.
The Lakers have been on a roll, winning their last five games, and the streak started against the Wizards on January 21 in LA, where the Lakers blew out the Wizards 111-88.
Now on the road, they’ll go for six-straight games against the worst team in the league. Since the Lakers will be without their star big man, that leaves more room for LeBron James to dominate tonight.
The Lakers have been playing good team basketball as of late, but with Davis out, there’s a void in the scoring department that will have to be picked up by everyone, more specifically James.
James’ usage rises from 29.9% to 33.5% when Davis is off the floor, per Add More Funds. In addition, SG Austin Reaves’ usage bumps up from 22.1% with Davis to 26.2% without him.
Being that the matchup tonight should be an easy one, there’s a good chance that James takes tonight into his own hands and dominates the Wizards.
NBA PrizePicks Pick: Lakers F LeBron James 27.5 Points — More
Hawks vs. Cavaliers: Preview, Pick
Time: 7 p.m. ET
How to Watch: TNT
In this Eastern Conference showdown, the No. 1 seeded Cavaliers (38-9) will host the Hawks (22-25).
The Hawks have been struggling recently, as they have lost their last six games. To add more bad news, Jalen Johnson will have season-ending surgery on an injured left shoulder.
Though the Hawks haven’t had the best January, that doesn’t mean the Cavaliers should sleep on them. As a team, the Hawks are ranked 11th in total points per game at 115.3.
Trae Young will need to be the difference maker for the Hawks team that is struggling and will have to go without one of their most impactful players. In a game where the focus will be on the matchup between Young and Donovan Mitchell, this can very well be a great offensive showdown between two dynamic guards.
Young will have the lead the way like he always has, which is why points is safe projection for tonight, as he should usurp some of the usage that Johnson left.

NBA DFS Picks Today for PrizePicks
Here are three NBA DFS picks to put into your PrizePicks NBA Lineups for today, Thursday, January 30.
Timberwolves F Julius Randle vs. Jazz: 20.5 Points — More
Timberwolves PF Julius Randle has been in a good rhythm offensively as of late. In his last three games, he has scored 20 or more points, shooting at an efficient 49 percent.
In the matchup tonight against the Jazz, Randle has the opportunity to continue his good play against a Jazz team that is second to last in defensive rating at 118.1 and are third worst in allowing points at 118.5 according to the NBA. The Jazz are missing PF John Collins and C Walker Kessler is questionable, which should make it easy for the Timberwolves to attack the paint with Randle.
Over the last four games against the Jazz, Grizzlies PF Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 28 points, Thunder PF Jalen Williams scored 25, and Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo put up 35.
This looks to be another good night for Randle to continue his efficient play.
Grizzlies G Ja Morant vs. Rockets: 22.5 Points — More
The Houston Rockets are on the road to take on the Memphis Grizzlies. Both teams are placed second and third in the Western Conference, respectively.
The last time the two teams met was on January 13 in Houston, where the Rockets won in what was a thrilling game, winning 120-118. In that game, Jalen Green scored 42 points and Ja Morant scored 29 points, both leading their teams. In three games vs. Houston this season, Morant is averaging 26.7 points per game.
Now playing in Memphis, look for Morant to get his points and return the favor by aiming for a win tonight. Note that Morant is questionable to play due to right shoulder soreness.
Magic F Paolo Banchero vs. Blazers: 35.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts — More
In his last game against the Trail Blazers on January 23, Paolo Banchero struggled. He only scored 8 points and shot 1-of-14 from the field, probably his worst game of the season.
This season he’s putting up averages of 23.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists, which puts him above this number. Banchero is too talented of a player to let that kind of poor performance happen again, which is why this is a good opportunity for him to have an all-around good performance.
