Rockets vs. Wizards: How To Watch, Preview
Time: 7 p.m. ET
How to Watch: NBA League Pass
The Rockets and Wizards met early in the season in Houston, and it ended up as a comfortable Rockets win in the end, winning by 15. Washington, the league’s third-fastest team, was able to hang with Houston for most of the game but just couldn’t get the shots to fall, shooting at a 40 percent rate from the field.
This game provides two teams who are polar opposites. The Rockets are in the bottom half of the league in pace and one of the best defensive teams in the league. Washington on the other hand, is one of the fastest teams in the league and is allowing the most points per game.
Wizards guard Jordan Poole has enjoyed a nice stretch over his last 10 games, averaging 26 points and nearly 5 assists per game in that stretch. He’s currently questionable for tonight’s game against the Rockets after missing the last three games, so him missing the game would be vital for keeping this close for fantasy purposes, especially with Maltolm Brogdon already out.
PrizePicks NBA Pick: Rockets G Jalen Green 7.5 Rebs+Asts — More
Hawks vs. Jazz: How To Watch, Preview
Time: 9 p.m. ET
How to Watch: NBA League Pass
Both the Hawks and Jazz of these teams sit towards the top in opponent points per game and fantasy points allowed. Over both the last seven games and throughout the season, the Jazz and the Hawks are in the top-five for most fantasy points allowed.
The Jazz have had the slightest improvement defensively over the last seven games, going from the second-worst defense as a whole to the fourth.
Over the last couple of seasons, Atlanta has dropped at least 115-plus points in all four games against the Jazz. Albeit the roster constructions are different to what they are now, at least on the Atlanta side, the metrics have remained similar — top-10 in points allowed and top-12 in pace each of the last two seasons — so expect another shootout once again.
PrizePicks NBA Pick: Hawks C Clint Capela 8.5 Points — More

Below, you’ll find the top NBA DFS picks today for PrizePicks for Monday, January 6.
Rockets C Alperen Sengun vs. Wizards: 11.5 Rebounds — More
In their last meeting, Rockets C Alperen Sengun soared over his rebounds projection by finishing with 17 and had 22 potential rebound opportunities. This season the Wizards are allowing the second-most rebounds to their opponents and are allowing the eighth-most rebounds to opposing centers.
The Wizards are one of the worst shooting teams in the league, ranking sixth-worst in shooting percentage in the league. They shot 40 percent in their last meeting. Wit h their high-paced play style plus inefficient shooting, making it the ideal matchup for Sengun.
Hawks G Trae Young vs. Jazz: 36.5 Pts+Assists — More
“Ice Trae” gets a great matchup against the Jazz who are allowing the third-most assists to opposing point guards this season and the fifth-most overall to their opponents. This game is expected to be close and have a lot of points.
You have two teams who are top-12 in pace and top-five in most points allowed to their opponents, so this is expected to be a shootout due to the fast-paced play and lack of defense.
Young hasn’t played against Utah in a couple of seasons and despite averaging only 7.5 assists, he had more than double those opportunities last time he played them — and that was with Dejounte Murray on the roster.
With Jalen Johnson out, this sets up wonderfully for Young to finally hit this projection in this matchup as he takes on more of a scoring role while still providing with his playmaking.
Jazz F Lauri Markkanen vs. Hawks: 24.5 Points — More
Utah will be down Jordan Clarkson, John Collins, and Keyonte George today, so that’s roughly 49 points per game missing from their rotations. Utah PF Lauri Markkanen has played one game without all three of these players while in Utah and scored 25 against Portland.
Over the last seven games, Atlanta has allowed the third-most points to opposing power forwards, and they jump up to the most points allowed to opposing power forwards in their last 15 games. With Utah’s depth being so depleted, they will rely on both Markkanen and PG Collin Sexton to provide a bulk of the offense tonight.
Celtics G Derrick White vs. Nuggets: 19.5 Pts+Asts — More
The Celtics and Nuggets meet off in what could be the game of the evening in Denver with one of the best teams in the league against one of the contenders for MVP in Nikola Jokic. Denver is allowing the seventh-most points per game overall and this year, and the most points and second-most assists to shooting guards this season.
This full-season sample of being one of the worst defensive teams against shooting guards can also be seen in a smaller sample of their last seven and last fifteen games where they still allow the most points and are top-three in assists allowed to shooting guards.
Both Denver and Boston are top-five in points scored per game, with Denver being towards the top of the league in pace as well. White should be able to hit with Nuggets PG Jamal Murray as his primary defender, which is a great matchup.
White should see plenty of opportunities in what could be a high-scoring affair.
