Friday NBA Games to Target for NBA DFS
Here are two of the top games to target for NBA DFS fantasy production today, Friday, January 17.
Hornets vs. Bulls
Time: 8 p.m. ET
How to Watch: NBA League Pass
The last time these two teams met, they combined for 103 three-point attempts in a game that went to overtime. They only combined for 223 points in the game because neither team shot more than 30.0% from deep. That was an anomaly for them because the Hornets have shot 34.1% from deep this season, while the Bulls have shot 37.4%.
The Bulls have attempted the second-most three-pointers per game (43.2) in the league, while the Hornets have attempted the third-most (41.8). We can expect both teams to let it fly here.
Bulls G Lonzo Ball is expected to return after sitting out Wednesday, which was the second game of a back-to-back set. In that game Wednesday, Bulls G Ayo Dosunmu returned from a 10-game absence because of a calf injury. It’s not all good injury news for the Bulls as G Josh Giddey (hip) is listed as questionable. Bulls G Coby White (neck) is also on the injury report, but he is probable.
On the other side, Hornets F Brandon Miller (wrist) is questionable, while Hornets C Mark Williams (knee) is probable.
PrizePicks Pick: Hornets F Miles Bridges 7.5 Rebounds — More
Jazz vs. Pelicans: Preview, Pick
Time: 8 p.m. ET
How to Watch: NBA TV
We are more than half way through January and the Jazz and Pelicans have combined for 20 wins. A big reason for their struggles has been their inability to play defense. The Jazz have the second-worst defensive rating (117.7) in the league, while the Pelicans have the fourth-worst defensive rating (117.4).
The Pelicans will be without F Brandon Ingram (ankle) and F Herbert Jones (shoulder) again. Pelicans G Dejounte Murray (elbow) is listed as probable. The Jazz have been riddled with injuries and won’t be in much better shape Friday. G Jordan Clarkson (foot), F Lauri Markkanen (back), F John Collins (hip), and C Walker Kessler (rest) have all been ruled out.
PrizePicks Pick: Jazz F Cody Williams 7.5 Points — Less

NBA DFS Picks Today for PrizePicks
Here are four NBA DFS picks to help you build your PrizePicks NBA Lineups for today, Friday, January 17.
Thunder F Jalen Williams vs. Mavericks: 20.5 Points – More
This is the second game of a back-to-back set for the Thunder, but F Jalen Williams only needed to play 30 minutes in a blowout win over the Cavaliers on Thursday. Still, he scored 19 points. He is averaging 20.6 points per game for the season and the Thunder will need even more production from him with C Isaiah Hartenstein (calf) out. Last night, the Thunder opted to go small for a lot of the game, making Williams a key piece of the offense.
I’ll take a chance on the Mavericks keeping this game close enough for Williams to play over 30 minutes. If he does, he could blow past this projection.
Hornets C Mark Williams vs. Bulls: 27.5 Pts+Rebs – More
Hornets C Mark Williams is averaging 29 minutes over his last six games. During that span, he produced at least 27 combined points and rebounds four times. That included a game against the Bulls in which he had 20 points and 12 rebounds. The Bulls have allowed the second-most rebounds per game (47.1) in the league and have the eighth-worst defensive rating (115.3), so Williams could produce another juicy stat line.
Bucks F Khris Middleton vs. Raptors: 19.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts – More
Bucks F Khris Middleton (ankle) is listed as probable to face the Raptors. Not only have injuries limited him to just 16 games this season, but he has only averaged 23 minutes per game. Still, he has averaged 12.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists.
With regards to this projection, Middleton has at least 20 combined points, rebounds, and assists in eight of his last 12 games. The Bucks and the Raptors both rank inside the top-11 in the league in pace of play, which also works in Middleton’s favor, as there should be plenty of possessions.
Raptors G/F RJ Barrett 11 Rebs+Asts – More
Staying in that same game, Raptors G/F RJ Barrett also comes with plenty of upside. Raptors G Immanuel Quickley (groin) has been ruled out again, which should leave Barrett with added opportunities for assists. In Wednesday’s matchup with the Celtics, Barrett combined for 18 rebounds and assists.
Even with Quickley healthy the last time he faced the Bucks, Barrett had 14 combined rebounds and assists. Combine Quickley being out with the fast pace at which both teams play and this projection might be too good to ignore.
