2024-25 Fantasy Basketball Sleepers: Guards

Cam Thomas, Brooklyn Nets

The Nets are going to look very different after trading F Mikal Bridges to the Knicks. Last season, Bridges averaged 19.6 points per game and had a 24.3% usage rate. The Nets are rebuilding, so the main prize in the return of that trade was draft picks.

Nets G Cam Thomas is not shy about jacking up shots. Last season, he averaged 22.5 points per game and had a 30.5% usage rate. The next best scoring options behind him right now are Nets F Cameron Johnson and Nets G Dennis Schroder.

With plenty of shot attempts coming his way, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Thomas average more than 25 points per game this year.

PrizePicks NBASZN Projection: 24.4 Points Per Game

Anfernee Simons, Portland Trail Blazers

Injuries were once again a problem for Simons last season. He played in just 46 games, marking the third straight season that he has appeared in 62 games or fewer. In his six seasons in the NBA, he has played at least 70 games just one time.

When Simons is healthy, he is a deadly three-point shooter. For his career, he has shot 38.6% from behind the arc. That has enabled him to average at least 3.1 three-pointers per game in each of the last three seasons.

He also averaged at least 21.2 points and 4.1 assists in both of the last two seasons. He should remain one of the focal points of the Trail Blazers’ scoring attack, so if he can stay healthy, he comes with plenty of upside.
