Fantasy Basketball Sleepers: Forwards

Jalen Johnson, Atlanta Hawks, PF

The Hawks lost guard Dejounte Murray (22.5 PPG, 5.3 RPG) in the offseason, so they will need someone to step up in his place. The team has depth at the forward position, but forward Jalen Johnson should get the most minutes.

Johnson averaged his best numbers last season with 16 points per game on 51% shooting with 8.7 rebounds, but his problem has always been staying on the court. He’s missed 38 games in the last two seasons.

If he can stay healthy, he could have a fantastic season, as the Hawks will need some additional scoring.

Tobias Harris, Detroit Pistons, SF/PF

Pistons forward Tobias Harris is a long-time veteran with 13 seasons under his belt, but he’s entering a situation where he can be vital to his team’s success as a veteran leader.

Last year, the Pistons were one of the worst teams in NBA history, with a 12-68 record, the 12th-worst in NBA history, and their 28-straight losses are the most in a single season.

They needed to bring in a veteran presence to help the group of talent they have. Harris will be looked at as a leader when he is on the court. He fights on the boards and is a great perimeter shooter. He should get plenty of opportunities in his second stint in Detroit.
