Best 2025 Masters Sleeper Picks: Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and More
The Masters is one of the most anticipated events in sports. For most, it’s the unofficial start of spring as the golf majors begin.
Every year, fans go hunting for the best Masters sleepers: the golfers flying under the radar who could beat expectations and make noise at Augusta. Below, we’re highlighting four of our favorite sleepers for Masters 2025, including Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and names that may surprise you — perfect for your Masters DFS Lineups on PrizePicks.
The spotlight is on Scottie Scheffler, who is coming off a historic 2024 and will try to be the first golfer to win back-to-back Masters since Tiger Woods (2001-2002). Rory McIlroy will also try once again to complete his Grand Slam, as the Masters are the only major that’s eluded him.
However, the field is deep, and the green jacket doesn’t always end up worn by the tournament darlings. There are a couple of sleepers, some you might know — some you may be learning about now — that could surprise you and be the last man standing at Augusta.
With PrizePicks, you can ride your gut or cash in on your golf knowledge on any golfer in the field. Just pick More or Less on golfers’ stats — like head-to-head and birdies or better — and cash in if your picks are right. Every day, there will be a whole new board, so you can get action every day of the Masters.

Justin Thomas

Justin Thomas is still looking for his first Masters win, but he’s come very close in recent years, and this might be the time for him. His two most recent visits to Augusta haven’t gone well, with back-to-back missed cuts, but prior to that, he finished in the top eight in two of three.
His most recent performances might suggest he could be ready to get back to being in competition. He’s coming in with a second place finish at the Valspar Championship, including a 65 and 66 to end the weekend.
Thomas’ short game could be the reason we see him in contention on Sunday. His putting game significantly improved; in 2022-2023, he finished 135th in strokes gained from putting, and in 2024, he was 174th, but he worked on it, and now he’s 40th. That change is what could help him get the green jacket.
Patrick Reed

Augusta always brings out the best in Patrick Reed, as he seems to flourish in the course. He already knows what it’s like to have the green jacket, thanks to winning in 2018, and while he hasn’t been able to get back there since, he’s still put up phenomenal performances.
In the six tournaments since, Reed’s finished at least T-12 in four and a top-10 finish in two of the last four.
The reason why most LIV players are considered sleepers to win a PGA major event is because of how different their league is. They play on three rounds compared to four on the PGA Tour. With Reed being on the LIV Tour for multiple years, he’s still been able to put up these performances.
He still plays in world tournaments, which are four days, and he finished T-8 at the Ras al Khaimah Championship and T-10 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
Augusta’s fast greens mean putting can make or break you in this tournament. What is noticeable is Reed’s improvement on the green; in his last two tournaments, he gained 0.58 and 1.58 strokes from putting. If he can get those types of numbers in this tournament, he could be a two-time champion.

Jordan Spieth

This Masters will mark the tenth anniversary of Spieth’s Masters championship. Since then, we know how close he’s come to winning again, but we’ve also seen his struggles at Augusta.
His last four appearances have been all over the place: T-3, missed cut, T-4, missed cut.
It’s been an up-and-down year for Spieth, who hasn’t played as much as others going into this tournament. In his seven tournaments in 2025, he has three finishes in the top 12 but also two finishes outside of the top 50, including a missed cut.
Spieth said in a recent press conference that he believes he has pinpointed areas where he needs to improve. He needs to better judge his chip shots and target his spots off the tee. He’s still one of the better putters in this tournament, and when you can putt, you’re always in contention.
Will Zalatoris

Before Ludvig Åberg finished as the runner-up in his Masters debut, it was Will Zalatoris who got very close to winning as a debutant. He has made a run in all three appearances at Augusta National, with top nine finishes in each.
The big reason experts are sleeping on him is because he hasn’t had the best 2025. While he has made the cut in all seven tournaments this year, he hasn’t finished better than T-12. Getting to the green is very important at Augusta,
Zalatoris is 20th in strokes gained on approach to the green.
