Heat vs. Hawks Game Preview

Time: 7 p.m. ET

How to Watch: TNT, MAX

The Hawks had their opportunity this past Tuesday to compete for the 7-seed during their matchup against the Magic in Orlando. The Magic won the game in dominant fashion, with a final score 120-95. Trae Young had 28 points in the game, but the Hawks defense struggled as a whole, and also shot 4-of-21 from 3-point range.

Young also would end up getting ejected after picking up two technicals in the game, but he avoided suspension for this game.

It isn’t over for the Hawks though, as they have one more opportunity to try to get in on some real playoff action as an eight seed.

The Heat on the other hand took care of business in their first Play-In game against the Bulls two days ago. They dominated the whole game, and were led by their All-Star Tyler Herro, who dropped 38 points to lead Miami to a 109-90 victory as the away team, adding another opportunity to fill in the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The regular season matchup between the Heat and the Hawks is at an equal 2-2. The Hawks won the first two matchups and the Heat won the last two matchups. While the Hawks have their All-Star in Trae Young and had the better regular season from a record standpoint, the Heat can’t be overlooked.

They are more seasoned when it comes to the playoffs and have been through it all. Though Jimmy Butler is no longer there, players like Herro and Bam Adebayo, along with the coaching of Erik Spoelstra can be beneficial. However, the Hawks will have home-court advantage and can put up points in bunches when they’re clicking.
