Lakers vs. Cavaliers: Time, How to Watch, Location

Time: 7:00 p.m. ET

How to Watch: NBA League Pass

The Lakers' expectations weren’t high coming into this season. Many analysts thought the family connections of some players would be more of a headline than the talent on the court.

That hasn’t been the case. They’ve started 3-1 with two wins against playoff teams — Phoenix and Minnesota — and one against a play-in team — Sacramento. Offensively, they’ve been impressive, ranking fourth in adjusted offensive rankings (114.3). Much of this success is due to Anthony Davis’s incredible start, averaging 34 points per game.

LeBron James returns to Cleveland to play the undefeated Cavaliers tonight.

Their wins aren’t as substantial as they’ve beaten Toronto, Detroit, and Washington — all teams that finished 30 games below .500. Their strength of schedule ranks 30th. They have offensive talent and lead the season in points per game (128.0) and field goal percentage (54.5%).

Tonight’s game will help determine if they’re legitimate contenders or simply benefiting from an easy schedule.

Celtics vs. Pacers: Time, How to Watch, Location

Time: 7:00 p.m. ET

How to Watch: ESPN

The defending champs look ready for a repeat, with convincing wins thus far. The Celtics rank first in offensive efficiency (1.25) and adjusted net rating (+7.2). Jayson Tatum has emerged as a leader, ranking third in the league in points per game (33.0) and leading his team with 6.0 assists and a 54.7 field goal percentage.

The Pacers were swept out of the Eastern Conference Finals on the Celtics' path to the championship. Though they couldn’t secure a win, they were disadvantaged after PG Tyler Halliburton’s season-ending injury.

Tatum has been stellar this season, and with the Pacers struggling defensively (21st in adjusted defensive rating), he could have another big night.

NBA DFS Picks Today for PrizePicks

Below, you’ll find the top picks for NBA DFS on PrizePicks today, October 30, including NBA DFS projections.

Celtics F Jayson Tatum vs. Pacers: 28.5 Points — More

We talked about Tatum’s stellar season above, and now that he is an NBA champion to be considered a true leader, an MVP trophy would be the next step. The Pacers are allowing 117.3 points per game (20th), and Tatum had more than 30 points twice in that ECF against them.

Tatum should continue to thrive in this matchup tonight.

Magic F Paolo Banchero vs. Bulls: 34.5 Pts+Rebs — More

The Magic could be ready to contend in the Eastern Conference. They have a strong defense and are third in adjusted defensive rating (109.5).

One of their stars Paolo Banchero has shown significant improvement every season and is averaging 28.5 points per game this season, placing him in the top ten in the NBA. He’s coming off a career-best 50 points and 13 rebounds against Indiana last night, which we mentioned is a below-average defense.

Up next, he faces Chicago, which ranks 25th in points allowed (120.5), The Bulls have struggled against wings, allowing the third-most points to power forwards (32.4).

Hawks G Trae Young vs. Wizards: 43.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts — More

The Hawks were a play-in team last year, and expectations aren’t much higher this season. Their defense ranks 26th in efficiency (1.131), and offensively, they heavily rely on Trae Young.

His on-court/off-court differential is notable, as he averages 26.5 points per game, with the next-highest player at 18.5.

Both of these teams are top five in pace so far, with the Wizards being No. 1 in the league, averaging 102.65 possessions per game. The Wizards also are 29th in defensive efficiency so far this season. That should lead to plenty of opportunities for Young to go more than this projection.

Trae Young Projections Today

Thunder G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander vs. Spurs: 28.5 Points — More

The Thunder are one of the popular picks for a potential championship. Their roster is packed with young talent, including Chet Holmgren, who’s averaging 23.7 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks per game. Jalen Williams, third on the team, averages 18.7 points per game.

PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads the Thunder, ranking eighth in points per game in the NBA (28.7) and 13th in assists (6.3). His presence on the court has a substantial impact, with a +25.8 efficiency difference and +10.0 points per 100 possessions when he’s playing.

The Thunder face the rebuilding Spurs, who are expected to struggle this season. The Spurs are 28th in team defensive efficiency so far this year. SGA excelled against San Antonio last year with two 30-point performances.
