3 Best Touchdown Scorer Predictions for NFL Week 2
We are so freaking back. Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season was exciting as we saw the highest opening week league scoring average since 2021. Teams are back scoring again, and more importantly, they’re back running the ball again.
You know what that means? More opportunities for rushing and receiving touchdown scorers every single week.
For the first time in 1989, we saw more rushing touchdowns than passing touchdowns in an NFL opening week. The running game produced the majority of the touchdown scorers in Week 1, with NFL teams rushing for 36 touchdowns.
This week, we’re diving into teams’ running back and quarterback rooms to find the best touchdown scorer predictions for Week 2 on PrizePicks.

RB Jonathan Taylor: 0.5 Rush+Rec TD Scorer
Date: Sunday, September 15, 2024
Time: 1:00 p.m. ET Kickoff
Location: Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisc.
TV: FOX, NFL+, YouTube TV
On paper, Jonathan Taylor didn’t have the best opening week for the Colts. Taylor finished with 16 carries for only 48 yards but still managed to find the end zone, one of the only bright spots in his performance.
The Colts faced a tough Houston Texans defense that only allowed 3.6 yards per carry last season, which could explain Taylor averaging only 3 yards per carry in Week 1.
Taylor’s 16 carries on the day is still a positive for fantasy managers, showing that the Colts wanted to give him touches and are gameplanning for him. Their offense just struggled against a solid rushing defense.
For Week 2, Jonathan Taylor should be one of the best touchdown scorer predictions, as the Colts head to Green Bay to take on a team that just allowed 144 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground last week.
Taylor had 12 carries inside the five-yard line in 10 games in 2023. It will be interesting to see how QB Anthony Richardson and Taylor split those opportunities going forward. Last week, it was two for Taylor, and one for Richardson.
QB Jayden Daniels: 0.5 Rush+Rec TD Scorer
Date: Sunday, September 15, 2024
Time: 1:00 p.m. ET Kickoff
Location: Northwest Stadium, Landover, Md.
TV: FOX, NFL+, YouTube
In his first game as the Commanders’ quarterback, Daniels performed as the team’s lead rusher and touchdown scorer, with 16 carries and two touchdowns on the ground. That’s over 53% of the Commanders’ carries last Sunday, even with solid running back options in Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekler.
Daniels’ performance was against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that struggled to stop teams from scoring and running the ball last season. In Week 2, he faces another sub-par defensive unit in the New York Giants, who were dead last in PFF run defense grade in Week 1, following 2023 where they ranked 27th.
Expect Daniels to continue utilizing his legs to create offense and scoring opportunities for the Commanders. The rookie is easily one of the best touchdown scorer predictions for Week 2 on PrizePicks.

RB Saquon Barkley: 0.5 Rush+Rec TD Scorer
Date: Monday, September 16, 2024
Time: 8:15 p.m. ET Kickoff
Location: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pa.
TV: ESPN
Saquon Barkley absolutely feasted in his debut with the Eagles, scoring two touchdowns on the ground and one through the air, making fantasy managers proud and those who didn’t pick him jealous.
Barkley eased any concerns about him getting fed in Philadelphia, with 24 carries in Week 1 for 108 yards. The Eagles had an astounding 12 red zone rushing attempts, eight of which went to Barkley, two for touchdowns. Jalen Hurts only carried the ball four times in the red zone, one of which was a fumble.
In addition to his monster game rushing, Barkley caught two passes for 23 yards, with another touchdown. By no means is he a top receiving threat at the running back position, however he is a top red-zone threat. His lone receiving touchdown came inside the red zone, as well as his two rushing.
You can expect Barkley to be one of the best touchdown scorer predictions in Week 2 as long as Hurts and the Eagles continue to feed him.
