49ers vs. Seahawks: Thursday Night Football Picks for DFS
The 49ers and Seahawks will face off in an NFC West showdown on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 6. Both teams had strong starts to the season, but have hit some unfortunate speed bumps in a tough division.
The 49ers lost their kicker early in the game against Arizona, which made it hard to score. They had one instance where they had to convert a fourth-and-long despite being in normal field goal range, and eventually lost by two points.
The Seahawks have lost two games in a row by more than one possession. Last week's unexpected loss was at home to the Giants, where they scored a season-low 20 points.
Let’s touch on some top picks for this Thursday Night Football battle on PrizePicks, where we’ll touch on all the big names in this contest, including one of the starting quarterbacks and touchdown scorer prediction.

Thursday Night Football Picks: 49ers vs. Seahawks
Here are the top NFL DFS Picks for Thursday Night Football, 49ers vs. Seahawks, from the PrizePicks board.
- 49ers TE George Kittle 4.0 Receptions
- 49ers RB Jordan Mason 0.5 Rush+Rec TD Scorer (Goblin)
- Seahawks QB Geno Smith 274 Passing Yards (Demon)
- Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf 23.5 Yards Longest Reception
49ers TE George Kittle 4.0 Receptions — More
It’s hard to argue the importance of 49ers tight end George Kittle in this offense and how much he elevates QB Brock Purdy. Last week, in a game where the 49ers had no kicker, he had eight catches on 12 targets for 64 yards and a touchdown, giving them every chance to get that win.
The more important part is he led the team with five first down receptions. Purdy trusts to get the ball to Kittle when they have a third-down situation, especially in the middle of the field.
Kittle is averaging five receptions per game this year, and has at least four receptions in every game.
The Seahawks have a great secondary: their PFF Coverage Grade is fifth (75.5). They will defend the outside markers, so guys like Juwan Jennings and Brandon Aiyuk will have a tough day.
However, the Seahawks get vulnerable in the middle of the field, where, according to PFF’s receiving depth chart, Kittle runs most of his routes.
49ers RB Jordan Mason 0.5 Rush+Rec TD — More (Goblin)
49ers RB Jordan Mason has done a fantastic job of filling in for Christian McCaffrey, and with the uncertainty of CMC’s return, they will likely need him for the much of the rest of the season.
Mason is averaging a staggering 5.1 yards per carry and has run for over 100 yards in three of five starts. Seattle has been vulnerable to the ground game as their 110.6 yards allowed per game, the ninth most, and their 62.0 PFF Run Defense Grade is 19th.
He’s a true workhorse for the 49ers, with a 75% snap rate or better in four of five games, and the 49ers want to establish the run game to open up the opportunities for Purdy.
Mason has been the go-to for the 49ers when they get around the end zone, with 14 rushes and three touchdowns in five games this year.
Note: Goblin picks reduce your payout on PrizePicks, as they are easier projections to hit.

Seahawks QB Geno Smith 274 Passing Yards – MORE (Demon)
It’s been an excellent start for Seahawks QB Geno Smith. He leads the league in passing yards (1,466), and his 71.9 completion percentage is second among quarterbacks with a minimum of 150 attempts.
While this is a good 49ers pass defense, as they are 12th in passing yards allowed per game (197.0), Seattle’s offensive game plan will be to throw.
They lead the league in pass play percentage (67.3%) under offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, who held the same position at the University of Washington. Last season, he took an offense to the National Championship game that was ninth in the country in pass play percentage (58.8%).
The volume will be there for Smith to go more than this projection. If you want a safer number, his standard pass yard projection is 253.5 passing yards on PrizePicks.
Note: Demon picks add a payout boost to your lineup on PrizePicks, as they are more difficult projections to hit.
Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf 23.5 Yards Longest Reception — MORE
Smith's resurgence has benefitted Metcalf, who is fourth in receiving yards (421) and pace for his third-straight 1,000-yard season. Metcalf has had a catch of at least 24 yards in three of five games this year.
What makes him so great is that not only does his size help him fight off defenders, but he also has big play ability and can stretch the field. He is averaging 15 yards per catch, and he’ll be lined up mostly against Deommodore Lenoir, who hasn’t been tested over the last few weeks with a receiver like Metcalf.
This week, he’ll try to defend Metcalf with a six-inch height disadvantage. Metcalf is averaging over 8 targets per game, so he’ll have plenty of opportunities to reach this number.
