Bears vs. Texans: Where to Watch SNF

Date: Sunday, September 15, 2024

Time: 8:20 p.m. ET

Location: NRG Stadium, Houston, Tex.

Streaming: NBC, NFL+, YouTube TV, Peacock

The last time the Bears and Texans played against each other — outside of the Hall of Fame game in this year's preseason — was back in 2022 when the Bears beat the Texans 23-20. The only problem is neither team is where it was just two seasons ago.

With the starting quarterbacks in 2022 being Justin Fields and Davis Mills, both teams now have — what they think is — a franchise quarterback for the next decade in Caleb Williams and C.J. Stroud.

Sunday Night’s matchup is going to be a game that highlights the new faces of the NFL, as Williams looks to improve after his disappointing Week 1.

Bears vs. Texans: Sunday Night Football DFS Picks

Bears QB Caleb Williams — More Than 0.5 Passing Yards

It’s free! Please don’t overthink this one! Take the free square and run with it. One yard = one win on PrizePicks, all September long.

Let me give you a few more picks to go along with it, so that you can stay in the green on Sunday Night Football in Week 2.

WR Stefon Diggs & Keenan Allen —Less than 0.5 Rush + Rec TDs (Combo)

This may come as a surprise to many considering Stefon Diggs is coming off a two touchdown performance, but hear me out. Diggs played in the slot 64% of Week 1 while his average depth of target was a measly 1.7 yards which is brutal.

If he keeps this up, he won’t be seeing the endzone much more this season. Keenan Allen is officially questionable, and will be a game-time decision. Even with the 11 targets against the Titans, he was noticeably less fluid than years previous, and now he’s dealing with a heel injury.

Texans WR Tank Dell — More than 0.5 Rush+Rec TDs (Demon Pick)

This feels like the best demon pick this week. One thing we know for sure is that Stroud loves to throw to Tank Dell. Week 1 was just a small taste as he was second on the team in targets with seven.

But remember, Dell has only had one game since Week 13 in 2023, when he fractured his fibula. On top of getting shot in the leg earlier this year. Look for him to get back on track and find the end-zone against the Bears here in Week 2.

It doesn’t hurt that WR Nico Collins was also listed questionable with an illness today too. If he ends up sitting or isn’t 100%, we could see more from Dell.

Texans QB C.J. Stroud — More than 1.5 Passing TDs (Goblin)

As a rookie Stroud had seven games where he went under 1.5 passing touchdowns while he had eight going over that mark. He started off 2024 with two passing touchdowns against the Colts.

The Bears defense showed out last week, but let’s be honest, they were going against a lackluster Titans team led by Will Levis who hasn’t proven anything in the NFL. Stroud is known for his good decision making and will dice up the Bears, especially if the Bears offense continues to be stale.

I expect him to spread the ball around to his many weapons and throw 2+ touchdowns.

Game Prediction: Texans 33, Bears 20

The pair of 1-0 teams may be an easier game to predict than you might think. Both defenses have a lot of talent, so I feel like it’ll come down to the offenses to decide this game.

There are high hopes for Caleb Williams in the NFL, but not all NFL quarterbacks can have a rookie season like C.J. Stroud. The Bears will take another step forward as Williams looks to put up over 100 passing yards in this one, but the Texans are too well established to be rattled.

The Texans are going to have a comfortable win with some late scoring from the Bears to make the game seem closer than it really will be.
