The Browns head to Mile High to take on the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football this week. The Broncos have had a surprising season, sitting at 7-5 and right in the thick of the AFC Wild Card race. Rookie Bo Nix has performed exceptionally in his rookie year, accounting for 20 touchdowns and throwing for over 2,500 yards.

Cleveland is coming off a stunning win against the Steelers on Thursday Night Football last week, but is still just at 3-8.

Below, we will take a look at some of the best Monday Night Football picks for the Browns vs. Broncos showdown on ESPN for NFL DFS and PrizePicks in NFL Week 13.

Browns vs. Broncos Best Picks for NFL DFS

Here are the top PrizePicks picks for the Browns vs. Broncos showdown on Monday Night Football for Week 13.

Browns vs. Broncos: Time, How to Watch, Location

Date: Monday, December 2, 2024

Time: 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff

Location: Empower Field at Mile High Stadium, Denver, Colo.

How to Watch: ESPN

The Browns are facing one of the best defenses in the league in nearly every fantasy metric, which makes this a brutal matchup on their side of things. The Broncos are a top-10 defense in the least fantasy points allowed to every offensive position except tight end where they rank 11th. The hope for Cleveland lies in their outside receivers though since Denver is giving the eighth most points to outside receivers.

Denver on the other hand enjoys fruitful matchups at quarterback and then the pass-catching positions (wide receiver and tight end). Cleveland is in the top 10 for points allowed against wide receivers and tight ends and sits 12th in that statistic against opposing quarterbacks. This puts Bo Nix into play, and Courtland Sutton as well, with Cleveland giving up the seventh-most points to outside receivers.

That said, Nix has had most of his bigger games in spots where he avoids pressure, and the Browns will create plenty of it. The Browns have the third-best PFF pass rush grade in the NFL, led by elite pass-rusher Myles Garrett.

Browns WR Jerry Jeudy 59.5 Receiving Yards — Less

With WR Cedric Tillman in concussion protocol, that will make WR Jerry Jeudy the clear primary wide receiver — even more so than usual. Despite how poor the Broncos are against outside receivers this year, they still have arguably the best cornerback in the league in Patrick Surtain II.

Surtain will likely be the primary corner on Jeudy. As his former teammate who he likely shadowed in practice, he should know a thing or two about playing him in coverage. PS2 will want to make life tough on Jeudy and shut down the primary big-play threat on the Browns.

Out of corners who have played at least 418 snaps, only one has given up less passing yards than Surtain this year, with only 177 yards on 32 targets. It’s possibly Jeudy gets there, but it’s not likely to be on Surtain.

Broncos WR Courtland Sutton 13.5 Fantasy Score — More

The Browns rank as the fourth-worst defense against opposing wide receivers this year for fantasy production and are one of the worst teams against outside receivers specifically. This matchup plays into Sutton’s hands, as Sutton plays 82.5% of his snaps out wide.

Sutton has cleared this projection in each of his last five games and 8-of -12 games this season. While the elite receivers in the league like A.J. Brown, Malik Nabers, and Ja’Marr Chase have naturally enjoyed success against Cleveland, the likes of Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Quentin Johnston have had big games recently against the Browns as well.

Sutton will play most of his snaps against CB Martin Emerson Jr., who has been vulnerable all year. Emerson has given up 416 yards and four touchdowns on just 316 coverage snaps, per PFF.

Fantasy score gives leeway to get points via receptions, yards, and the biggest score, a touchdown.

Courtland Sutton Projections

Kickers Will Lutz + Dustin Hopkins 48.5 Yards Longest FG Made Combo — More

On the season combined, kickers Wil Lutz and Dustin Hopkins are 8-for-23 on going more than 48.5 yards on their longest field goal made, which isn’t the best history taking this projection. However, kickers enjoy playing in Mile High Stadium because the altitude gives the ball extra carry that it usually would not get elsewhere.

Since starting the season hitting four of his first five from 50+, Hopkins has struggled by missing his next three from distance. Lutz has hit four of six from distance this season.

With the Browns offense expected to struggle against Denver’s stout defense, look for them to try and take three points as often as they can, even if it means longer field goals.
