Eagles vs. Rams: Time, How to Watch
Date: Sunday, November 24, 2024
Time: 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff
Location: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, Calif.
How to Watch: NBC
This NFC matchup has playoff implications for both teams, as the Eagles are atop the NFC East, and the Rams are fighting for a Wild Card spot. Both teams will look to capitalize on their wins last week.
The Eagles offense looks to turn things after Jalen Hurts struggled with his accuracy last week as he dealt with a lingering ankle injury. Philadelphia declared WR DeVonta Smith out on Friday with a hamstring injury, so we can expect WR A.J. Brown to be the focus of the passing offense.
The Rams offense looked very strong last week as Stafford threw for four touchdowns against the Patriots in their narrow win. This game will ultimately come down to how the Rams offense can function against an Eagles' defense that has proven to be one of the best units in the NFL.
Rams WR Puka Nacua 72.5 Receiving Yards — More
Puka should find good success in primetime even though this defense has arguably the best secondary in the NFL. Nacua might get loose as more pressure will be on Cooper Kupp leaving some space on the opposite side of the field.
The Eagles best cornerback Quinyon Mitchell has been on a tear this season. He has allowed only 29.1 yards per game while in coverage, 2.3 catches and a 70 passer rating per game. While all of these Eagles CBs are talented, you have to imagine that Sean McVay will move Nacua around the formation to avoid a matchup with Mitchell. Mitchell plays almost all of his snaps on the right side, so look for the Eagles to line WR DeMarcus Robinson up on the right side as often as they can here, with Kupp and Nacua playing some snaps in the slot.
Although Nacua has had an up and down season due to injuries, a healthy game means he’s likely to hit this projection.
Eagles QB Jalen Hurts 26.5 Pass Attempts — Less
Seeing how the loss of WR DeVonta Smith will affect the Eagles offense should give us some pretty early signs about how this game will play out. The Eagles however have found their identity in running the football.
RB Saquon Barkley has proven to be the bright spot in this offense. With an injury to one of your top wide receivers, I see no reason why the Eagles would want to pass the ball often.
Over his last five games, Hurts has only reached this projection once. After Week 4, last week was his high in pass attempts with 28. From Weeks 5 through 10, Hurts was averaging a total of 20.6 pass attempts.
The only way I see them going away from the run game is if the Rams get out to a multiple score lead early in the game, which seems tough against this Eagles defense.

Joshua Karty + Jake Elliott 123.5 FG Yards (Combo) — MORE
Last week did not look good for this projection for either kicker, as the Rams scored four touchdowns and Eagles kicker Jake Elliot went 2-for-4 on field goal attempts and even missed an extra point. This game should turn around for Elliot and provide an opportunity for Karty at a field goal.
The injury and accuracy issues for Hurts last week are a reason to think the offense might go stagnant on some drives and allow Elliot to redeem himself. I also do not believe the Rams will score a touchdown every drive as the Eagles secondary might cause problems.
Playing in a dome will also negate any impact conditions would have on kicking, which is a good sign for this projection.
TD Scorer Pick: Eagles RB Saquon Barkley — 0.5 Rush+Rec TDs (Goblin)
Using the same logic as my previous pick, Saquon’s opportunities will be plentiful during this game. He will be targeted on checkdowns as well as have many opportunities at the goal line to get into the end zone.
Barkley has scored in half of his games this season, but due to a significant target share opening up DeVonta missing this game, it makes sense that he could get some extra opportunities in this game.
Note: Goblin picks reduce your payout on PrizePicks, as they are easier projections to hit.
Game Prediction: Eagles 23, Rams 20
I expect this game to be a relatively low scoring affair between these two teams. Both offenses will start slow but find the end zone twice. The rushing attacks for both offenses might lead this game, as I imagine this to be a grind it out game that comes down to the last possession.
The Eagles secondary will eventually get a crucial stop and Elliot should be able to reset and redeem himself after his poor performance last week. I look for the Eagles to convert a last second field goal for the win.
The Rams have to bring pressure and negate Barkley at all costs in order to win this game. Jalen Hurts needs to prove that he can win the game throwing after accuracy issues last week. And without his No. 2 WR in the game, that could be easier said than done.
This game should be a close one nonetheless and provide some exciting moments on both sides of the ball.
