Eagles vs. Vikings TNF Preview & Daily Fantasy Projections
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Minnesota Vikings TNF Game Preview
Week Two of the 2023 NFL season is set to kick off tonight at 8:15 PM EDT in Philadelphia. The 1-0 Eagles host the 0-1 Vikings. Both teams struggled against seemingly inferior opponents in Week One and are hoping for a better go tonight in Philly.
Last year, these teams were loaded with high-value fantasy players like Jalen Hurts, Justin Jefferson, AJ Brown, and Kirk Cousins. We’ll run through the top storylines and cover the hottest NFL DFS picks and projections for tonight’s game so you’re ready to lock in your entries on the board.

Eagles vs. Viking Storylines
The Impact of a Short Week
We all love having an extra day of NFL football each week, but the impact of having such a short turnaround between games can impact players and their productivity. A shorter week means less recovery time and less preparation time for your next opponent. That means there’s a higher chance of injury, fatigue, and poor performances.
Fortunately, it’s only the second week of the season so fatigue should have less of an impact on the game tonight. But with that said, star players like AJ Brown and Justin Jefferson might not have a full tank of gas entering the game, which could slow down efficiency.
Kirk Cousins Performance in Primetime Games
Kirk Cousins has had a fair amount of regular season success in the NFL, but one major mark against him is that he often struggles in primetime games. On Monday night and Thursday night games, Cousins is just 6-15 and in away games, he’s 10 games below .500.
If the Vikings stand a chance tonight, Cousins will have to be sharp and take advantage of the incredible talent he has on his offensive unit like reigning Offensive Player of the Year, Justin Jefferson.

Eagles Vs. Vikings DFS Projections and Picks
The 2022 Super Bowl runner-ups have another stacked team this year with top scoring fantasy players in almost every position. The Vikings aren’t quite as deep but definitely have a few players that can light up a night with highlights and stats. Here are our top DFS projection for tonight’s game.
Receptions
Justin Jefferson - WR, MIN
Like we said, the reigning OPOY is a serious threat to any defense. He had 9 receptions and 150 yards receiving last week in a disappointing loss to the Bucs.
This week he’s projected at 7.0 receptions. Despite his incredible talent, much of his production will depend on Kirk Cousins’s ability to step up in the primetime game, where he’s struggled before.

AJ Brown - WR, PHI
Signing AJ Brown was a huge part of the Eagles’ success in 2022. In 2023 he’ll have to continue to produce at a high level to will the Eagles through a tough NFC.
Last week he had nearly 80 yards off of 7 receptions in a tight win against the Patriots. This week he’s projected 5.5 receptions at home against the Vikings. Jalen Hurts will need a strong performance from his WR1 tonight to win under the lights in Philly.

Pass Yards
Jalen Hurts - QB, PHI
Hurts had a tough go in Week One in the away victory against the Patriots. He threw for just 170 yards and 1 TD against a stout Belichick defense. As he comes back home he’ll take on the Vikings who only allowed 169 passing yards last week.
Unfortunately for the Vikings defense, Hurts and the Eagles’ offense is far superior to Baker Mayfield and Tampa Bay. Hurts is going to have to find a spark tonight to get this team on the right track in 2023.

Kirk Cousins - QB, MIN
Cousins has historically struggled in away games and during primetime games. Tonight he’ll have a chance to silence critics on both angles if he can step up in Philly and bring home a win.
He’s currently projected at 262.5 yards. Last week he threw for an impressive 344 against the Bucs, but the Eagles are sure to give them more trouble. If Kirk plays his best ball, it shouldn’t surprise anyone to see him throw for more than 300 again, but that’s a big “if”.

Rush Yards
Alexander Mattison - RB, MIN
The Vikings’ rushing attack took a big hit this offseason when they lost star RB Dalvin Cook. Alexander Mattison is taking his place as RB1 for the Vikings this season, but Minnesota isn’t expecting much from him.
If Mattison can simply provide a little balance in the offense and allow Kirk Cousins to shine, he’ll have done his job well this season. After only rushing for about 30 yards in Week One, he’s projected at 50.5 tonight against the Eagles. Kirk will need all the help he can get tonight so keep an eye on Mattison.
