ESL Pro League Season 21 is set to kick-off on Saturday, March 1, with 16 teams battling it out through the bracket until March 5 in the Play-In, ultimately having just half of the field advance. 

On the flip side, there are eight teams waiting in the wings in Stage 2 that have already been granted spots due to their standings in Global VRS. Only eight of the 24 teams that participate in ESL Season 21 will make it to the playoffs.

ESL Pro League Season 21 Bracket & How It Works

Stage 1 of ESL Pro League, also known as the play-ins, will feature a 16-team Swiss group — similar to a round robin — with all matches being a best-of-three. Stage 1 runs from March 1-5. Eight teams from Stage 1 will advance to meet up with the eight teams already waiting for them in Stage 2.

Stage 2 rolls from March 7-11, and plays out the same way Stage 1 does. The 16 teams will play in a Swiss group, where all matches are a best of three. Eight teams will advance following this stage.

Finally, running from March 13-16, the remaining eight teams out of the original 24 squads play in a single-elimination bracket. The Quarterfinals and Semi-finals are best of threes, with the Grand Final being a best of five.
