Falcons vs. Eagles: Monday Night Football Picks for DFS
Week 2 of the NFL season is here, and we have the “Battle of the Birds” on Monday Night Football, as the Falcons and Eagles showdown.
The Atlanta Falcons, now led by their 180 million dollar man, Kirk Cousins, travel to the City of Brotherly Love to face the Philadelphia Eagles on ESPN.
Below, we’ll take a look at some of the best Monday Night Football picks on PrizePicks for the Falcons vs. Eagles game.
Falcons vs. Eagles: Time, TV, Location
Date: Monday, September 16, 2024
Time: 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff
Location: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA.
TV: ESPN, ESPN app (streaming), ESPN2 (Manningcast)
These two teams had contrasting starts to the season.
The Eagles flew high in Brazil defeating the Green Bay Packers 34-29 in a thrilling game that went down to the final drive. Philly was led by newly signed running back Saquon Barkley who had three total touchdowns.
Atlanta on the other hand sputtered in their opener. Kirk Cousins looked rusty playing in his first game since rupturing his Achilles last October, as the team lost 18-10 to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
All eyes will be on Cousins to bounce back against a tough Philadelphia defense.

Falcons vs. Eagles: Monday Night Football DFS Picks
Falcons RB Bijan Robinson: 29.5 Receiving yards — MORE
If the first game of the season was any indication, the Falcons will do their best to get Bijan Robinson as many touches as possible. Robinson, who was one of the top picks early in fantasy drafts, had 23 total touches, going for 68 rush yards on 18 rush attempts and 43 receiving yards on 5 catches (5 targets).
Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins still looks shaky coming off that Achilles injury and will likely look to Robinson a lot on checkdowns, as he’s struggling to drive the ball downfield. The Eagles’ pass defense looked shaky against the Packers giving up 260 yards through the air.
Packers running back Josh Jacobs managed 20 yards on 2 receptions. With more pass-catching volume compared to Jacobs, expect Robinson to clear this projection with ease.
QB Kirk Cousins: 33 Pass Attempts — MORE
Cousins threw the ball 26 times in last week’s game against the Steelers where the Falcons trailed for the majority of the second half. This Falcons defense will also get tested much more against an Eagles offense that put up four touchdowns in Week 1.
The Eagles have an elite offense with tons of weapons and for the Falcons to keep this game competitive, they’re going to need to throw the ball if they want to keep up.
Although it was a different offense and system, Cousins averaged 38.9 pass attempts per game before his injury last year.
Goblin Pick: RB Saquon Barkley 59.5 Rushing Yards — MORE
My Goblin pick for Monday is Barkley's rushing yards. Barkley is enjoying running with the best offensive line he’s ever run behind, and he’s getting fed the rock.
The Falcons gave up 140 yards on the ground to the Steelers including 70 to running back Najee Harris who did it on 20 carries. Barkley is a better runner than Harris and should be able to clear this projection on efficient volume.
Note: Goblin picks reduce your payout on PrizePicks, as they are easier projections to hit.
Game Prediction: Eagles 31, Falcons 17
I find it hard to believe that the Falcons can keep up with the Eagles’ high-powered offense on Monday Night. Cousins still looks uncomfortable coming off his Achilles injury and has been known to have disappointing performances in primetime games, especially on the road.
Look for the Eagles to come out flying in primetime in their home opener and to be too much for the Falcons.
