Royals P Cole Ragans — 7.0 Strikeouts

Kansas City pitcher Cole Ragans has been on the wrong side of a pair of extra-inning losses in his first two starts. Ragans is coming off a strong 10-strikeout performance against the Brewers in five innings of work, but Kansas City lost in 11 innings, 3-2.

The left-hander has seen plenty of success against Minnesota from a strikeout perspective. Last season, Ragans racked up more than seven K’s in each of his four starts against the Twins.

Minnesota is facing a left-handed starting pitcher for only the second time this season. White Sox southpaw Martin Perez recorded nine punch-outs against the Twins on March 31 in a 9-0 shutout.

Twins 2B Willi Castro, 3B Jose Miranda, and C Ryan Jeffers have combined for 14 strikeouts against Ragans. 

Red Sox P Garrett Crochet — 6.5 Strikeouts

The Red Sox lost the series opener on Monday to the Blue Jays, snapping a five-game winning streak. Boston sends out southpaw Garrett Crochet to the mound tonight, as he struck out eight batters in a 3-0 win over Baltimore in his previous outing.

Crochet will be tested tonight against a Toronto team that has only struck out 40 times this season against opposing starting pitchers. The Blue Jays have not struck out more than six times in a game against an opposing starter this year.

In two games against left-handed starting pitchers, the Jays have struck out a total of eight times. The group of Vladimir Guerrero, Jr., Bo Bichette, Anthony Santander, and George Springer have never gotten a hit off Crochet, while Santander has compiled three strikeouts.

Pirates 2B Adam Frazier — 0.5 Total Bases

The Pirates rolled past the Cardinals on Monday as Pittsburgh picked up consecutive wins for the first time this season. All the hoopla will surround Paul Skenes making his home season debut on the mound for the Pirates.

On the other side for the Pirates, Pittsburgh 2B Adam Frazier is coming off a hitless night on Monday in four at-bats, including two strikeouts. In 18 career at-bats against Cardinals P Sonny Gray, Frazier has compiled just three hits and hasn’t walked once.

Frazier owns one hit in 11 at-bats at PNC Park this season and six hits in 30 at-bats to start 2025.

Rockies SS Ezequiel Tovar — 0.5 Hits (Goblin)

One of the hottest hitters in baseball of late is Colorado SS Ezequiel Tovar. In three games this past weekend against the Athletics, Tovar racked up eight hits in 15 at-bats. Tovar began the season with three hits in eight games, but has bounced back at Coors Field.

The Rockies begin a home series against the Brewers tonight, who have won five of six games. Milwaukee has been awful on the road so far, albeit in only three games. The Brewers lost to the Yankees three times to begin the season in the Bronx.

Brewers P Freddy Peralta is coming off a solid outing against the Royals as he tossed eight innings and struck out eight. However, Tovar has held his own against Peralta by picking up three hits in seven at-bats and is hitting nearly .280 at home since 2023.

Home Run Pick: Braves 1B Matt Olson

Braves 1B Matt Olson struggled to begin the season but has slowly started to get on base. Olson owns a four-game hitting streak, which includes a home run against Miami on Saturday.

In his career, Olson has gone deep twice against Phillies P Zack Wheeler with the last home run coming in 2023. 

Wheeler has allowed a home run in each of his first two starts and has yielded at least one home run in each of his past three outings at Truist Park. 

Wheeler also had dramatic splits vs. left-handed hitters in 2024, giving up 1.35 HR per 9 innings to lefties and just 0.45 to right-handed bats. He also gave up hard contact 34.7% of the time to lefties, versus just 22.7% to righties.

The forecast in Atlanta calls for winds of 9 mph blowing out to left field tonight.
