NBA All-Star Weekend 2025: Schedule, Format, Rosters, & Location

The NBA takes its short break in the middle of February with All-Star Weekend 2025 taking place in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Golden State Warriors will be the official team host for All-Star Weekend 2025 festivities taking place from February 14-16. 

Below we will give you a breakdown of all the All-Star Weekend information, including the All-Star Weekend schedule — from the Dunk Contest to the All-Star Game, which will take place on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. ET on TNT in an all-new tournament format.

2025 NBA All-Star Weekend Location

This year, the Golden State Warriors are hosting All-Star Weekend. Festivities will take place across various locations in the Bay Area, but the Chase Center will be the primary host to the main events. Golden State’s former home, Oakland Arena, will be used as the practice facility as well as hosting the G-League Next Up and Celebrity All-Star Games.

When is the 2025 NBA All-Star Game?

The NBA All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, February 16, at 8 p.m. ET, in a new four-team tournament format. The All-Star Weekend festivities begin on Friday, February 14. NBA games will be on pause through the weekend; the NBA regular season returns to action on Wednesday, February 19.

New NBA All-Star Game Format for 2025

This year marked a change to the NBA All-Star Game format for the second consecutive year. 2023 marked the final year of the captain's format for the All-Star Game before switching back to the traditional East vs. West format last season.

The 2025 will have a four-team, three-game mini-tournament headlined by the Inside the NBA crew — Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith — managing each of the three teams. The NBA All-Stars will be drafted onto the three teams live in the NBA All-Star Draft on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The final team in the All-Star Game will be the winner of the Rising Stars Challenge, managed by Candace Parker.

The teams will compete for a $1.8 million prize pool. Each player on the winning team will receive $125,000, while the second-place team will receive $50,000 each, and the third- and fourth-place teams who lose in the opening games will receive $25,000 each.

2025 NBA All-Star Rosters

Here are the rosters for the 2025 All-Star Game. Note that these players will be drafted onto teams managed by the Inside the NBA crew, so these are not the final roosters for the game.

Eastern Conference Starters: Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Karl-Anthony Towns

Eastern Conference Reserves: Cade Cunningham, Darius Garland, Damian Lillard, Tyler Herro, Jaylen Brown, Pascal Siakam, Evan Mobley

Western Conference Starters: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic

Western Conference Reserves: James Harden, Anthony Edwards, Jalen Williams, Jaren Jackson Jr., Anthony Davis, Alperen Sengun, Victor Wembanyama

Bucks F Giannis Antetokounpo was the leading vote-getter for the Eastern Conference and had the most votes overall of any player. Nuggets C Nikola Jokic received the most votes of any player in the Western Conference.

Each conference has three first-time All-Stars. The East’s first-time All-Stars are Cade Cunningham, Tyler Herro, and Evan Mobley. The West’s first-time All-Stars are Jalen Williams, Alperen Sengun, and Victor Wembanyama.

2025 NBA Rising Stars Game Rosters

As noted above, the winner of the Rising Stars Game mini-tournament will move onto to play in the 2025 NBA All-Star Game. The Rising Stars rosters consist of nine rookies, 11 sophomores (or second-yard players), and seven G-League Players. 

Rookies: Bub Carrington, Stephon Castle, Tristan Da Silva, Zach Edey, Dalton Knecht, Jared McCain, Yves Missi, Zacchari Risacher, Alex Sarr, Jaylen Wells

Sophomores: Bilal Coulibaly, Grady Dick, Keyonte George, Scoot Henderson, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Dereck Lively II, Brandon Miller, Amen Thompson, Cason Wallace, Victor Wembanyama

Who are the 2025 NBA Dunk Contest Participants?

The 2025 Dunk Contest field was announced on January 27, 2025. It will include a hodge-podge field, with no big-name players. The 2025 Slam Dunk Contest participants are Mac McClung, Stephon Castle, Matas Buzelis, and Andre Jackson Jr.
