Sleeper Centers for 2024-25 Fantasy Basketball

Jusuf Nurkic, Phoenix Suns, C

Suns C Jusuf Nurkic’s first season with the team was a success. While he only averaged 10.9 points per game, his 11.0 rebounds per game were the second-highest mark of his career. With so many talented scorers around him and the team void of a true point guard, Nurkic also averaged 4.0 assists per game.

To put a cherry on top of his valuable fantasy season, he also chipped in 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.

Maybe the biggest surprise of all last season was that Nurkic appeared in 76 games. He hadn’t played in more than 56 games since the 2018-19 season. In his 10 seasons in the league, he has played in at least 70 games just three times.

It’s a big if, but if Nurkic can stay healthy again, he could be a steal outside of the top-20 at the center position.

PrizePicks NBASZN Projection: Jusuf Nurkic 10.3 Rebounds Per Game

Ivica Zubac, Los Angeles Clippers, C

Clippers C Ivica Zubac is coming off one of the best performances of his career, averaging 11.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game last season. He also shot an outstanding 64.9% from the field.

It marked the third straight season in which he averaged at least 10.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and shot at least 62.6% from the field.

The Clippers have a serious lack of depth at center this season. Their main options behind Zubac right now are C Mo Bamba and C Kai Jones. Zubac only averaged 26 minutes per game last season, but that number could be on the rise.

If he can approach 30 minutes per game, he could average a double-double for the first time in his career. When he averaged 29 minutes per game during the 2022-23 season, he just missed accomplishing the feat by averaging 10.8 points and 9.9 rebounds.

PrizePicks NBASZN Projection: Ivica Zubac 9.8 Rebounds Per Game
