Bucks vs. Celtics: Preview, Time, TV

Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
How to Watch: NBA TV

This is a back-to-back for the Bucks, who just played Sunday in Brooklyn. They suffered a surprising loss at the hands of the Nets and are just 1-2 out of the gate. They have played at the ninth-fastest pace (102.67) and have the eighth-worst defensive rating (115.9) in the league.

The Celtics are off to a 3-0 start thanks to them having the best offensive rating (129.0) in the league. Celtics F Jayson Tatum has shot 48.6% from behind the arc, helping him average 33.0 points and 5.7 three-pointers per game.

There should be plenty of fantasy production from this matchup of two of the top teams in the East.

Lakers vs. Suns: Preview, Time, TV

Time: 10 p.m. ET
How to Watch: NBA TV

The Lakers don’t play at an incredibly fast pace, but they do have the fourth-best offensive rating (120.1) in the early going. Lakers F Anthony Davis has dominated, scoring at least 31 points in all three games this season. Helping his cause is that he logged at least 37 minutes in each of those games.

The Suns are off to a 2-1 start and have the sixth-best defensive rating (108.3) in the league. Suns G Tyus Jones has helped bring some stability to their backcourt, averaging 11.0 points and 6.3 assists per game.

An injury of note for this matchup is that Suns G Bradley Beal (elbow) is listed as questionable after sitting out on Saturday. On the positive side for the Suns, G Grayson Allen (personal) is expected to return after missing the last two games.

Hawks G Trae Young 28.5 Points — More

After posting a 30.5% usage rate last season, Hawks G Trae Young has a 32.1% usage rate this season with G Dejounte Murray now a member of the Pelicans. That has helped Young score at least 24 points in all three games. In two of their games, he has scored at least 30 points.

The Wizards have played at the fifth-fastest pace (104.25) and have the worst defensive rating (122.4) in the league, so Young is primed for another scoring explosion.

Lakers F/C Anthony Davis 26.5 Points — More

Given that Davis has scored at least 31 points in all three games, this projection stands out as being a tad low. He has thrived at the free-throw line, attempting at least 13 free-throws in all three games. He has shot 79.5% from the charity stripe for his career, so that kind of volume provides a significant boost for his scoring upside.

When he played the Suns last Friday, Davis scored 35 points. In three games, Davis’ usage is up from 26.6% last year to 29.3% so far this year.

Jazz C Walker Kessler 8.0 Rebounds — More

Jazz C Walker Kessler has started both of the first two games this season. In their opener against the Grizzlies, he grabbed 14 rebounds over 30 minutes. Despite being limited to 20 minutes in a blowout loss to the Warriors in his last game, Kessler recorded nine rebounds. The Mavericks have a lot of size with C Daniel Gafford and C Dereck Lively II, so Kessler should play enough to at least challenge for double-digit rebounds.

NBA Injuries Today

Here are the NBA injuries to keep an eye on for today’s NBA DFS slate and the players who could benefit.

  • Grizzlies G J Morant (thigh) is questionable against the Bulls. He was also questionable Saturday, but played and produced a double-double against the Magic. Should he sit Monday, Grizzlies G Scotty Pippen Jr. could replace him in the starting lineup. Pippen is averaging 10.0 points and 7.7 assists off the bench this season. Pippen’s outlook would be further boosted if SG John Kochar (foot) is out, as he’s currently questionable as well.
  • Hawks G Bogdan Bogdanovic (hamstring) and Hawks F De’Andre Hunter (knee) both sat out Sunday in what was the first game of a back-to-back set for the Hawks. It is unclear if either will be available Monday. Hawks F Zaccharie Risacher moved into the starting lineup Sunday and produced 13 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block over 27 minutes.
  • Knicks F Josh Hart (ankle) is questionable against the Cavaliers. Should he be unable to play, Knicks G Miles McBride could step into the starting lineup. McBride is dealing with a knee injury of his own, but he is expected to play.
  • Raptors G Immanuel Quickley (pelvis) is listed as doubtful, setting him up to miss his third straight game. Raptors G Davion Mitchell has started in his place, but has had minimal impact with averages of 4.0 points and 5.5 assists. Raptors SG R.J. Barrett (shoulder) is questionable and C Kelly Olynyk (back) will remain out in this game. If Barrett is out, it will continue to open up more minutes for Gradey Dick and Ochai Agbaji, who is averaging 27.3 minutes per game without Barrett.
  • Magic SF Franz Wagner (illness) is questionable to play, which would open up a starting spot for Jett Howard or Cole Anthony if he’s out. PF Jonathan Isaac also remains questionable.
  • As mentioned above, SG Bradley Beal is questionable today, while SG Josh Okogie will remain out. Beal’s absence would open up more minutes for SG Grayson Allen, who will return today, and more shooting opportunities for Devin Booker and Kevin Durant.
