Where is the Super Bowl 2025?
Super Bowl 59 (or Super Bowl LIX) will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the Caesars Superdome, home of the New Orleans Saints.
This is the eighth Super Bowl that will be played in the Superdome, and the 11th in the city of New Orleans. Most recently was Super Bowl XLVII in 2013, when the Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 34-31, despite a 34-minute power outage caused by equipment failure.
More than a decade later, let’s hope that the Superdome can keep the lights on for all 60 minutes for Super Bowl 59.
When is the Super Bowl 2025? Date, Time, and TV
Here are all of the important details for Super Bowl 2025.
Date: Sunday, February 9, 2025
Time: 6:30 p.m. ET (kick-off)
Location: Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana
TV: FOX
FOX will host the Super Bowl broadcast for the second time in three years. As of last year’s TV agreement deal, the rotation for the Super Bowl will be: CBS, FOX, NBC, and ABC/ESPN. The latter will only host two Super Bowls over the 11-year deal, while the other three will host three (including last year’s broadcast on NBC and Nickelodeon).
Super Bowl 2025 Logo: Homage to New Orleans
The Super Bowl 2025 logo is far more interesting than in years past, with a clear tie to the culture of New Orleans — and there’s good reason for that.
For the first time ever, the Super Bowl logo was created in collaboration with a local artist from New Orleans. The logo artist, Tahj Williams, paid homage to her Black Masking Indian tribe of New Orleans, with a beading pattern and culture that dates back to the birth of the United States.
Williams built the logo bead-by-bead, making it the perfect fit for a Super Bowl in New Orleans. Hopefully, the NFL keeps involving talented, local artists in the creation of future Super Bowl logos, as they’ve become very stale and corporate-feeling through the last two decades.
Who is Performing at the Super Bowl 2025 Halftime?
The 2025 Super Bowl halftime show will be headlined by rap superstar Kendrick Lamar. Apple Music announced that Kendrick Lamar will perform at the halftime show NFL season opener on Sept. 5, 2024. The announcement also came with a video posted to Lamar's YouTube channel.
Kendrick Lamar has won 17 Grammy Awards and a Pulitzer Prize throughout his rap career. This year alone he's had two No.1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, including "Not Like Us," a Drake diss track that instantly became a classic amidst their beef.
While it's hard to know exactly what Kendrick Lamar will play at the halftime show during the 12 to 15 minute show, we can certainly expect hits like "Swimming Pools (Drank)", "Alright", and "Money Trees". While he likely won't play the most notable parts of "Not Like Us", it would be a surprise to see him not play the song that has brought him so much attention in 2024.
Lamar previously performed with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem at the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime show.
