NFL Draft Predictions: Will Players Be Left in the NFL Draft Green Room?
The NFL Draft Green Room is where the top NFL Draft prospects go before their name is called in the NFL Draft. Every year, a handful of the top prospects get invited to the exclusive backstage area to wait for their name to be called.
This year, 17 players will attend the NFL Draft Green Room — up from 13 players last year. However, sometimes, players get left behind in the Green Room after Round 1, leading to the viral sad cam as the final draft selection on Thursday is made.
This year, with PrizePicks free-to-play Draft game, you can make predictions on the NFL Draft to win a share of $500,000 in Free Lineups, including on how many players will be left in the Green Room after Round 1. Just make sure to lock in your picks before the Draft action starts on Thursday, April 24, at 8 p.m. ET before the first name is called.

What is the NFL Draft Green Room?
The NFL Draft Green Room is essentially the VIP lounge for top prospects at the Draft on draft night. It’s set up near the stage at the NFL Draft venue — this year at Lambeau Field, in Green Bay, Wisc.
Invites are reserved for a select group of players who are expected to be drafted early, typically in the first round. It’s like the NFL’s version of being front row at the Oscars, while the remaining prospects will watch from home.

Will a Player Be Left in the Green Room after Round 1?
Being invited to the draft is an honor, and it is only given to players expected to go in the first round. That doesn’t always mean they leave the Green Room in the first round though, and players have been left in the Green Room after day one.
This year, 17 players will attend the NFL Draft Green Room — up from 13 players last year. In 2024, every player in the green room was drafted by pick 19. But in 2023, three players remained in the Green Room after the first round.

In PrizePicks’ free-to-play Draft game, 1.5 Draft attendees are projected to be left in the Green Room after Round 1. You can pick More or Less to win a cut of $500,000 in rewards if your picks are correct.
What Players Could Be Left in the Green Room?
Here are some invited players that we have projected to be taken late in the first round or outside:
- Malaki Starks, S, Georgia - No. 24
- Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M - No. 30
- Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State - No. .31
- Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia - No. 32
- Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama - Round 2
Priorities change, and a team might pick differently depending on how previous picks go. We could see that happen this year, but as of now, it wouldn’t be surprising to see at least one player left in the green room, especially with the inclusion of Milroe.
The question is, will there be more than one left? That’s where it gets tricky.
