NFL Week 5 Storylines
49ers First Test
The 49ers have been an absolute unit this year so far. Christian McCaffrey is dominating defenses across the league and carrying the 49ers offense through 4 games. This week they’ll face a tough Dallas team who’s hungry to prove they’re legit after an embarrassing loss to the Cardinals in Week 3.
Brock Purdy will need to perform at his highest level to overcome this stacked Dallas defense. With Kyle Shanahan at the wheel, the 49ers always seem to be favorites.
Bills on Top
The Bills suffered an embarrassing loss in Week 1 to a Jets team that had Aaron Rodgers for less than 1 drive. Since then, Josh Allen has been lighting teams up with his arm and his legs. When the Dolphins put up 70 on the Broncos, they looked like the clear favorites in the AFC East.
And then Allen and crew stomped on them in dominant fashion in Damar Hamlin’s return to the active roster. With that win, the Bills might be the top team in the AFC, if not the entire NFL entering Week 5.

Bears vs Commanders Week 5 TNF DFS Projections
Pass Yards
Justin Fields - QB, CHI
It’s been a tough and disappointing season for both the Bears and Fields. But despite the tough loss to Denver last week, Fields seemed to finally catch his stride as he threw for over 350 yards with 4 TDs.
This week Chicago faces the Commanders who proved a difficult test for the (now) 4-0 Eagles last week. Fields is averaging 215 per game this season, about 20 more than his projection this week. With the intense defensive front in Washington led by Chase Young and Montez Sweat, this week is sure to put Fields’ resilience to the test.

Receiving Yards
Terry McLaurin - WR, WAS
While this is far from McLaurin’s best year statistically, the veteran receiver has played a role in the surprisingly positive development of young QB, Sam Howell.
He’s averaging 53 yards receiving per game, 6 below his projection tonight. Considering how shaky the Bears have been on both sides of the ball thi season, this could be a breakout game for McLaurin and Howell.

NFL Week 5 DFS Projections
Pass Yards
Josh Allen - QB, BUF
The Bills went toe to toe with one of the top AFC teams last week and completely ran away with it. From start to finish Josh Allen and Bills Mafia proved haters wrong once again. This week they take on a far inferior Jags team and will hope to keep the wins rolling.
After his 320 yard performance last week, Josh Allen is averaging about 260 yards per game, just short of his 265 projection this week. He’ll be at home again on Sunday and will surprise no one if he goes off for over 300. Keep an eye out for highlights from Allen all Sunday.

Receiving Yards
Justin Jefferson - WR, MIN
To say that Justin Jefferson is the best wide receiver in the league would be a serious understatement. Week after week he’s put up insane stat lines despite the adversity and losses the Vikings have faced early this season.
The young star is averaging over 130 yards per game. Absolutely incredible. This week they take on the Chiefs who have struggled this season despite their 3-1 record. Jefferson is projected just over 100 yards but could easily go for more if Cousins is on his A game.

Rush Yards
Derrick Henry - RB, TEN
While it hasn’t been his best year, Derrick Henry is still performing as one of the elite backs in the NFL. Unfortunately for all of us NFL fans, we might only be getting one more “Tractorcito Season” since the RB is turning 30 soon.
For now, his play hasn’t seemed to drop off yet as he rushed for over 120 yards versus the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4. This week he’s projected at 75.5, slightly higher than his season average of 71.25.
