NFL Week 7 Storylines

Sunday Night Super Bowl Preview

This week’s Sunday Night Football matchup could be the best we’ve seen in a while. The Eagles, who are tied for the best record in the NFC, face the Dolphins who are tied for the best record in the AFC.

This matchup will tell us a lot about the parity between the two conferences and hold serious postseason weight. The Eagles are coming off an embarrassing loss but they have home field advantage. Can Mike McDaniels offense keep their high-paced momentum in Philly?

Trouble in Buffalo?

A few weeks ago we saw the Bills silence the early season haters as they crushed the impressive Dolphins. A week later they lost to the Jags and in Week 6 they nearly lost to the then 1-4 Giants who started a backup QB.

If Josh Allen and crew don’t start performing soon, they’ll quickly see their Super Bowl expectations fade into another early postseason exit. They have the talent and the potential. But so far, they’ve really only delivered in one game.

Jaguars vs Saints Week 7 TNF DFS Projections

Pass Yards

Derek Carr - QB, NO

Ask any NFL and they’ll tell you- Derek Carr is just not that guy. He’s battled through a few injuries and moved teams, but his performance is still the number one issue. Even when healthy the New Orleans QB just can’t seem to get it done.

He’s averaging 198.8 yards through the last 5 games. That's more than 30 yards below his projection this week (although let’s not forget he missed part of a game due to injury). To get the Saints back on track he needs to step up on Thursday night.

Rush Yards

Travis Etienne - RB, JAC

Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars have taken a serious step up this season, which is exactly what needed to happen for their QB in year 3. Helping lead that offense is running back Travis Etienne.

Etienne is averaging about 75 yards per game through the first 7 games. This week he’s projected 63.5 against a Saints team who need to prove something at home to keep their playoff hopes alive. If the Saints defense doesn’t come out hot, it could be a long night.

NFL Week 7 DFS Projections

Pass Yards

Josh Allen - QB, BUF

The Bills nearly lost to one of the worst teams in the NFL on Sunday night. Josh Allen STRUGGLED. The veteran QB and leader in Buffalo only threw for 169 yards at home against a far inferior opponent.

This week they face another 1-win team, division rival, the New England Patriots. Josh Allen needs to bounce back big time to make a spark in Buffalo. He’s averaging 268 yards per game in his last 5, about 10 above his projection for Week 7. Can he light a fire under this Bills offense and lead a playoff run?

Jalen Hurts - QB, PHI

Another QB on a team that struggled in Week 6. Jalen Hurts racked up a solid 280 yards through the air against the Jets, but threw 3 picks along the way which proved fatal for the Eagles.

In Week 7 they take on the high-flying Miami Dolphins in Philly which is no small challenge. To compete with Tua and the impressive offensive output of Miami, Hurts will need a big effort. He’s projected 259.5 this week but will likely need more to beat Miami.

Receiving Yards

Tyreek Hill - WR, MIA

Holy sh*t is Tyreek having an incredible year. Through 6 games he has 814 yards and 6 TDs. We’re literally witnessing history if he can keep this pace. At this rate he’ll rack up over 2,300 yards through 17, smashing the current record of Megatron who had 1,964 in 16 games.

To keep up this pace and earn the only 2,000 receiving yard season, Tyreek will need to keep it up against a tough Philly team on Sunday night. He’s projected 98.5 but we all know what he’s capable of at this point.

Rush Yards

Josh Jacobs - RB, LV

Josh Jacobs seemed to finally hit his stride (no pun intended) last week against the Patriots. He went for over 70 yards on the ground for the first time this season.

This week he and the Raiders face Chicago who have struggled hugely on defense this year. This week Jacobs is projected at 76.5 yards, but don’t be surprised if he blows the top off this Chicago defense.
