Canadiens RW Patrik Laine 2.5 Shots On Goals — More
The Canadiens are one of the original six in the NHL, so it’s important for the league when they’re good. They have been a rebuilding team for a long time, and when they started the year 8-13-3, it looked like another underwhelming season, but something clicked.
It’s great to watch the Canadiens turn their season around, as they are on an unbelievable run. They are 13-3-1 in their last 17 games and have scored 3.70 goals per game.
Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield are the team's two best players. Suzuki leads the team with 47 points, while Caufield leads with 24 goals. They are starting to get contributions from other players, including Patrik Laine, who has seven points (4 goals, 3 assists) in his last ten games. He’s had success against Detroit this year, scoring a goal in each game, with 3+ shots on goal.
Predators LW Filip Forsberg 0.5 Points — More (Goblin)
The Predators were sellers in recent years. If they can continue this momentum, they may make some positive moves at the trade deadline. They are coming into this game winning four straight, which is a season-best.
It seems like they are finally playing up to their potential. This offense can attack the net and shoot at volume as they are 13th in shots on goal per game (29.0%), but it hasn’t resulted in goals because they are 28th in goals scored per game (2.63).
Their captain Filip Forsberg is someone to ride with because he’s been on fire lately. He has recorded a point in eight straight games, with multiple points in four. They get back-to-back games against the Sharks, who they just dropped seven goals on, with Forsberg assisting on two of them in the last game.

Utah RW Clayton Keller 18.75 Time on Ice — More
It’s unfortunate that Utah plays inconsistently, because there is a lot of potential on this team. Just a month ago, the team went on a four-game winning streak and beat teams like Minnesota and Colorado, but then only scored four points in its next 11 games. Utah is trying to get back to form with back-to-back wins against St. Louis, and scored four goals on Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck.
Clayton Keller continues to be this team's driving force as he leads in goals (16) and assists (34). He and the Hockey Club might be able to ride this hot streak into Minnesota against the Wild, who are currently playing terribly. The Wild are 2-4-0 in their last six, and have allowed 3.83 goals per game, which is very surprising when they have Filip Gustavsson, who is one of the best in the league, and Marc-Andre Fleury, who is a future Hall of Famer.
Keller is an important part of this offense and should see a lot of ice time with three days of rest in a game that Utah can can compete in.
Vegas D Shea Theodore 0.5 Assists — More
The Golden Knights have hit a skid and have just three points in their last seven games. There’s nothing wrong with the offense because they are fifth in expected goal percentage (53.1%) and have six players with 30 or more points. Their goaltending has been roughed up, with Ilya Samsonov allowing nine goals in his last two appearances and Adin Hill allowing seven in his previous two.
The last matchup on Monday was a high-scoring game, with eight goals in regulation and a shootout win for St. Louis. Shea Theodore played a large part in the Golden Knights' losing efforts with four assists. He is one of the best two-way defensemen; he’s eighth in assists and has one in four of his last five games.
Washington LW Pierre-Luc Dubois 0.5 Points — More
The Capitals are having an incredible season with their league-leading 69 points, and they’re on a five-game winning streak.
This has been one of the best all-around teams, as they are one of two teams in the top five in goals allowed (1st) and goals scored (2nd). This offense is fast and aggressive, and they get their quality shots and lead in shot percentage (13.1%) and seventh in expected goal percentage (52.8%).
The biggest benefit for the team, which barely made the playoffs last year, is that they are relatively healthy. Even with Alex Ovechkin having trouble staying on the ice, there has been a great supporting cast to keep this team competitive.
That includes Pierre-Luc Dubois, who is averaging a point per game over his last ten and has back-to-back two-point efforts. Seattle has regressed on the defensive side from last year and allows 3.17 goals per game (23rd). Look for a strong effort from Washington and DuBois being a contributor.
