- Panthers C Carter Verhaeghe 2.5 Shots On Goal — Less
- Oilers LW Zach Hyman 1.5 Shots On Goal — More (Goblin)
- Stars LW Jamie Benn 0.5 Points — Less
- Jets LW Kyle Connor 19.75 Mins Time On Ice — More
- Devils RW Timo Meier 0.5 Points — More
Panthers C Carter Verhaeghe 2.5 Shots On Goal — Less
The Panthers are reigning champions, but from what we’ve seen in the first half of the season, they will have a tough time repeating. The team has slightly regressed in some spots; they went from 56.93% expected goal rate last season (2nd) to 53.84% (5th), but the biggest regression has been with the defense going from leading the league with 2.42 goals allowed per game to 14th at 2.89.
What will be one of the teams that could prevent them from getting back to finals are the Capitals. Washington is leading the Eastern Conference with 75 points. They are also one of the best all-around teams in the league, as they are second in goals allowed (2.44) and scored (3.50).
Both teams play physically, and Washington’s blue line is excellent at getting in front of the puck, as they are seventh in block shots per game (18.6).
Panthers C Carter Verhaeghe has gone more this line in three of his last five, but he could lean into being a facilitator here. Against this defense, he’ll need to move the puck around to get teammates scoring opportunities.
Oilers LW Zach Hyman 1.5 Shots On Goal — More (Goblin)
The Oilers are coming into this game with back-to-back losses, but both were only by one goal, including a shootout loss. We haven’t seen many losses from this lately as they lead the Pacific, and it looks like they have a great chance to return to the Stanley Cup Finals.
It will be tough to contain this offense because they have few top-tier forwards that could be the best players on most other teams. Their chemistry has allowed them to lead the league in expected goal percentage (57.4%) and sixth in goals scored per game (3.29).
This could be an excellent spot for the Oilers to put in a huge offensive effort. The Blues are near the average in goals allowed, at 3.05 (17th), but they’ve been worse over the last four games, allowing 16 total goals (4 per game). They’ve also allowed 30 or more shots on goal in five of their last seven.
This is an excellent spot for Oilers LW Zach Hyman, who’s been volume shooting lately with 14 shots in his last three games.

Stars LW Jamie Benn 0.5 Points — Less
The Stars are coming into this game playing fantastic hockey, as they’ve won four straight. They are showing how deep of a lineup this is, because they are winning with several important players sidelined, including Tyler Seguin, Mason Marchment, and Miro Heiskanen. What will give them another chance of a deep playoff run is that they are one of the few teams in the top ten in both goals allowed and scored.
They are facing the Ducks, who have been much better this season, but are still not ready to be a playoff competitor. We know they have a great goaltender duo with Lukas Dostal and John Gibson, who are fourth and fifth in goals saved above expected.
Stars might have trouble finding the back of the net, including LW Jamie Benn, who has been struggling with just three points in his last 12 games.
Jets LW Kyle Connor 19.75 Time On Ice — More
The Jets are showing off their dominance again. They are on their third six-game win streak of the season. They lead the league with 77 points and just defeated the Capitals, who are second. They are statistically the best team in the league, holding down the lead in goals allowed and scored.
The Hurricanes will be another tough opponent, as they are well-balanced themselves. This game could remain close for 60 minutes, so the Jets will want all their best forwards on the ice, including their points leader, LW Kyle Connor.
Connor has averaged 20 minutes on ice per game since the start of 2025.
Devils RW Timo Meier 0.5 Points — More
The Devils have been shaky the last few weeks and are coming in 5-8-3 in the previous 16 games. The offense has been struggling in that span, scoring just 2.43 goals per game with a 49.3% Fenwick rate. There is a ton of talent, but only Devils C Jack Hughes has more than three goals over the last ten games.
This could be a good spot against the Penguins, who allow the second-most goals per game this season (3.50). RW Timo Meier has been improving, recording a point in four of his last five games, and should contribute in getting a goal tonight.
