- Lightning LW Brandon Hagel 0.5 Assists — More
- Stars C Matt Duchene 0.5 Points — More
- Canadiens D Lane Hutson 0.5 Points — Less
- Rangers D Adam Fox 22.25 Time on Ice — More
- Capitals C Dylan Strome 1.5 Shots On Goal — Less
Lightning LW Brandon Hagel 0.5 Assists — More
It wasn’t too long ago when the Lighting’s offense looked unstoppable. They are still at the top in terms of goals scored per game, but they are just barely ahead of the Capitals, who are the hottest team in the league. Overall, Tampa Bay has taken a bit of a dip as the Lightning are 6-8-1 over their last 15 games, and they’re barely above 50% in Fenwick for rate.
Hopefully, three days of rest after a brutal 1-3-0 road trip will help them reset. That one win was against tonight’s opponent. The Blackhawks’ defense has been awful this season, and they are 29th in shots allowed (31.3) and 30th in goals allowed (3.45).
Lightning LW Brandon Hagel had an assist in that game and is second on the team with 31. Their passing was efficient in the previous matchup, creating 40 shots on goal. They should be able to do that again with Hagel getting involved.
Stars C Matt Duchene 0.5 Points — More
The Stars and Golden Knights are turning into an exciting rivalry. These two teams have met in the playoffs for two consecutive years, each winning a series. This season, they have played two thrilling games, each winning by one goal.
Both teams play well on both sides of the ice, but right now, Vegas has taken a little of a slide, and the Golden Knights are 3- 6-1 in their last ten games. That is primarily due to the goaltending that has allowed 3.20 goals per game and a .867 save percentage.
Stars C Matt Duchene played a big part in the previous matchup with two assists to help the Stars grab the win. Many of the Stars forwards are playing well, including Duchene, as his nine points in the last ten games is third on the team.

Canadiens D Lane Hutson 0.5 Points — Less
After a disappointing start to the season, it is thrilling to see the Canadiens play some good hockey. They have been rebuilding for a while and they have core pieces like Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki, and now it looks like they are getting the support.
They are on a great run of 13-4-2, scoring 3.57 goals per game, and are 51% in Fenwick rate. Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki are the driving forces of this offense, but were finally seeing the supporting players step up. That includes the rookie defensemen Lane Hutson, who is becoming an excellent two-way defenseman.
However, this could be a tough matchup for the Habs against the Jets. Winnipeg looks like they are returning to their form from earlier in the season when they were dominating opponents. They’ve kept their last two opponents under 23 shots on goals, and Montreal could have trouble generating opportunities all night.
Rangers D Adam Fox 22.25 Time on Ice — More
The Rangers went through some awful times, and it looked like their season was done. They went on a 6-16-1 stretch where they were allowing 3.78 goals allowed per game and only scoring 2.43 goals per game. Injuries played a part, but there were rumors of tension in the locker room and players asking for trades.
It seems like they have flipped a switch because now they are 6-1-2. The big thing they struggled with was the power play after being one of the best last year. During this nine-game stretch, they are at an impressive 33.3%.
Tonight, they’ll need to be at their best when they face the always-tough Hurricanes. They have one of the deeper rosters of forwards, so that’s why you’ll see the Blue Shirts have their best units on the ice. That includes their best defenseman Adam Fox, who has soared over this total in both matchups this season.
Capitals C Dylan Strome 1.5 Shots On Goal — Less
Washington’s winning streak is snapped at six, but this is still the best team in the league. They are just one of two teams in the top three in terms of the goals allowed per game (1st) and goals scored (3rd).
They’ve lost back-to-back games only twice this season, and they might have to fight to get two points. The Flames are a solid defense, as they have the eighth-best save percentage (.903) and rank 11th in share of takeaways (50.65%). This will be a tough spot for Caps C Dylan Strome, who has struggled since his hot start to the season.
In his first 23 games he had 34 points, but in his last 26, he generated just 12, averaging under two shots on goal per game.
