Aaron Rodgers’ return to MetLife Stadium after last year’s season-ending Achilles injury is set to be a big one on Thursday Night Football. He’ll take on the New England Patriots in his first AFC East showdown.

The Jets offensive line will have the challenge of facing a top-notch Patriots pass rush, led by Keion White — the fourth-highest graded pass rusher per PFF. White has been in on five sacks with one forced fumble in two games this year.

While Rodgers has looked great in his first two games, the Patriots QB position is a bigger question mark, as Jacoby Brissett has been less than impressive thus far.

Classic game-manager Brissett has thrown for 260 yards across two games, as the Patriots continue to be a run-first team with RB Rhamondre Stevenson, averaging 23 carries per game thus far.

Jets QB Aaron Rogers 214.5 Passing Yards — LESS

Patriots vs Jets Thursday Night Football Showdown picks — Aaron Rodgers projections

Since returning from a grueling Achilles tear, Aaron Rodgers has played two games with the New York Jets, failing to surpass 211 passing yards in both outings. Extending this trend, Rodgers has fallen short of 211 passing yards in each of his last five games.

The New England Patriots' defense, known for its stinginess, is ranked in the top 10 this year, allowing just 208.4 passing yards per game. Expect the Jets to focus on the ground game in primetime, relying on the duo of star running back Breece Hall and emerging star Braelon Allen, who has impressed early in the season.

Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson 66.5 Rush Yards — MORE

Patriots vs Jets Thursday Night Football Showdown picks — Rhamondre Stevenson projections

Rhamondre Stevenson has solidified himself as the bell cow back for New England, making the most of his opportunities. In two games this season, Stevenson has rushed for 120 and 81 yards, easily surpassing his projection of 65.5 yards.

He comes into this matchup averaging over 4.3 yards per carry, with 3.7 yards per attempt after contact — seventh among RBs with at least 20 carries.

While the Jets have one of the NFL's top passing defenses, their run defense has struggled, allowing over 100 rushing yards per game so far. Their defensive line is under performing this year as they have two defensive ends that rank in the bottom half of the NFL in stopping the run (Micheal Clemons and Will McDonald).

Adding to their concerns, linebacker C.J. Mosley, a key defensive player, is questionable for the game, and Jermaine Johnson — another edge rusher — tore his Achilles last week. Pair that with their top defensive offseason acquisition in Haason Reddick holding out for a new contract, and we should see Stevenson have plenty of success here.

Demon Pick: Jets WR Garrett Wilson 0.5 Rush+Rec TDs  — MORE

Patriots vs Jets Thursday Night Football Showdown picks — Garrett Wilson projections

Garrett Wilson is clearly Aaron Rodgers' top target, having been targeted 17 times in the first two games — a 30 percent target share. Wilson also thrives in primetime matchups. Since last season, he has recorded five or more receptions in all five of his primetime appearances, with double-digit targets in each game.

Wilson is expected to face off against young cornerback Christian Gonzalez, who struggled with injuries last season and may find himself tested by Wilson’s skill and consistency under the lights. Gonzalez has allowed eight of his 11 targets to be hauled in by opposing receivers thus far.

Wilson has three red-zone targets across two games this season.

Related PrizePicks Projection: Rodgers 0.5 Pass TDs (Goblin) / Rodgers 1.5 Pass TDs (Demon)

Note: Demon picks add a payout boost to your lineup on PrizePicks, as they are more difficult projections to hit.
