Just as the Ravens sit second in their division, the AFC North, so do the Chargers in the AFC West. Most people would never guess the Chargers have had this successful of a campaign through 12 weeks, especially when you consider they have a slightly better record than the Ravens and many other legit contenders.
All that to be said, the Ravens have a much more impressive resume, beating multiple teams with seven or more wins, whereas the Chargers best win was against the now 6-5 Broncos. The Chargers in their most recent outing showed good resilience however, eking out a win against the Bengals after surrendering 21 unanswered points.
Kickers Cameron Dicker + Justin Tucker 47.5 Yards Longest FG Made — More
This projection has treated us well in the past and one I love going back to, especially in higher scoring games. In a game where every point matters, I could see this projection getting hit more than just once, as Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker did in Week 8 — blasting two FGs over this projection by himself.
It’s no secret Justin Tucker, one of the best kickers of all time, hasn’t been himself this season — reflected by his 16-of-22 on field goals attempted. The good news for this square however is there may be reason to believe the Ravens may actually give him more attempts in an effort for Tucker to regain his form heading into the end of the season.
Head coach John Harbaugh said about Tucker, “The best option right now is to get Justin back on point, because he’s fully capable of doing it. (We) certainly haven’t lost any confidence in Justin Tucker.”
Despite his kicking woes, Tucker has hit from 48 or longer in five out of the eleven games played this season.
Dicker on the other hand has been great for the Chargers, connecting on 21-of-23 attempts. He has hit from 48 or longer five times in ten games. To make it a little more tempting, he has also hit from 46 yards four times this season, which is a bid of confidence he can bang out 45+ yard kicks with ease.
In a game script I could see going field goal heavy, I’ll take the GOAT kicker in a bounce back spot coupled with the younger kicker who has gone 6-of-7 from 40-49 and 5-of-6 from 50+ to collectively hit one from more than 47.5 yards out.
TD Scorer Prediction: Ravens RB Derrick Henry (Goblin)
So nice we had to take it twice. The difference this time though, is all metrics that point to another King Henry TD are actually more favorable than when we took this pick back in Week 7.
Fast forward five weeks, and Henry has still managed to cash this TD Goblin in every single game of the entire year.
So far on the season, Henry among all running backs and receivers ranks:
- 1st in total touchdowns (15)
- 1st in red-zone touchdowns (13)
- 3rd in red-zone rushing attempts (37)
- 4th in red-zone team rush attempts percentage (86%)
- 2nd in rushing attempts inside the 10-yard line (23)
- 1st in rushing attempts inside the 5-yard line (15)
As Henry continues to lead the NFL in TDs, no one this season has been more consistent or reliable in finding paydirt, and no one has seen the volume he has inside the five. The Ravens are the second highest scoring team in the NFL, and they won’t stop getting Henry into positions to punch it in anytime soon.
Despite the Chargers being a stingy defense, it’s mostly come against less competition. Henry comes with great volume, and he currently leads the league in both rushing attempts and rush yards. At this point you have to feel compelled to take Henry to score against any defense, even if it was the Steel Curtain.
Note: Goblin picks reduce your payout on PrizePicks, as they are easier projections to hit.

TD Scorer Prediction: Chargers WR Quentin Johnston (Demon)
Anytime a man has cashed a Demon projection three weeks in a row he’s worth taking a look into, and Quentin Johnston has done just that. After his two week injury stint, Johnston has seemingly come back and emerged as a guy QB Justin Herbert wants out there at all times.
Johnston has played over 80% of the teams offensive snaps in back to back weeks for the first time this year, while also posting a season high eight targets in his last game.
The good news for this connection is that the Ravens currently allow the most fantasy points to opposing WRs, meaning there should be plenty of opportunities for Johnston to get into the end zone. They’re especially vulnerable against the deep pass, and since Week 7, Johnston has an average depth of target of 17.9 yards. The Ravens also give up the second most passing touchdowns per game in the NFL.
Despite missing two games and leaving early in one, Johnston has six receiving touchdowns to the entire rest of the team's seven, making him by far the most attractive TD demon play for this Chargers team.
Note: Demon picks add a payout boost to your lineup on PrizePicks, as they are more difficult projections to hit.
Monday Night Football Prediction: Ravens 27, Chargers 24
The Ravens have the most rushing yards and second most passing yards in the NFL. The Chargers on the other hand allow a league low touchdowns with just 15 allowed on the season. The Chargers will attempt to continue bending but not breaking, but against the likes of MVP frontrunner Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, it may prove too much.
I do see the Chargers keeping it close, and if Herbert can keep up his stellar decision making — seen via his 13 TDs and just one interception this season — it will be left on the defense to decide the game. Kicker Justin Tucker will bounce back and give the Ravens the slight edge they need to win this one. I see the visiting team in the Ravens moving to 8-4, and the Chargers falling to a still respectable 7-4.
