We’re already nearly a quarter of the way through the NFL season, and we are treated to another double feature of Monday Night Football in Week 4.

The undefeated Seattle Seahawks head to Michigan to take on the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football in Week 4.

Below, we’ll take a look at some of the best Monday Night Football picks on PrizePicks for the Seahawks vs. Lions game, including a touchdown scorer prediction.

Seahawks vs. Lions: How to Watch, Time

Date: Monday, September 16, 2024

Time: 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff

Location: Ford Field, Detroit, MI.

TV: ABC, ESPN+ (streaming)

Both of these teams have started strong in this early part of the season.

The Seahawks lead the NFC West and are off to a 3-0 start after defeating the Broncos, New Patriots, and Dolphins. Under new coaching for the first time in 14 years, the Seattle offense is flying high so far, despite the injury to RB Kenneth Walker III, who is set to return this week.

The Seahawks' passing offense has stepped up in his place, as they’re 6th in passing yards so far.

The Lions have also played up to big expectations so far, with their lone loss coming at home against the Buccaneers. Despite this high-powered offense sputtering at times, their defense has looked strong thanks to Aidan Hutchinson who leads the league with 5.5 sacks

Lions RB David Montgomery: Rush+Rec TD Scorer — MORE

David Montgomery has been a touchdown machine since coming to Detroit. He has scored a touchdown in 16-of-20 games including the playoffs and has shown no signs of slowing down this year, scoring in all three games.

This season, the Seahawks have allowed 4.3 yards per carry to opposing running backs this year. With the Seahawks' defensive line hampered by injuries, this could be a huge game for Lions running backs.

If Detroit gets close to the goal line, they will trust Montgomery to pound the rock and get into the end zone once again.

Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III 55.5 Rushing Yards — LESS

As opposed to the Seahawks' run defense, the Lions' run defense has been menacing so far, allowing 2.6 yards per carry to opposing running backs.

Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III has missed the last two games with an oblique injury but was able to get in a full practice on Saturday. Walker is ready to go for Monday Night Football, but he’ll immediately come onto the field against one of the best rush defenses in the league.

With backup Zach Charbonnet fully healthy, this could be a split backfield on Monday night to manage Walker’s reps to ensure he doesn’t re-injure his oblique.

Both matchup and opportunity should keep Walker under this number.

Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba 69.5 Receiving Yards — MORE (Demon Pick)

So far this season, the Lions have been torched by slot receivers. Slot receivers have combined for 24 receptions, 262 yards, and 2 touchdowns in just three games against Rams WR Cooper Kupp, Bucs WR Chris Godwin, and Cardinals WR Greg Dortch.

Most of the damage was done by Kupp and Godwin, who are currently the top two PPR receivers in slot points per game. Dortch still saw six targets and caught 3 passes for 35 yards, which isn’t too bad for a player who is a No. 3 option on their team.

Seattle’s slot receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is coming off of a disappointing performance against the Dolphins, where he caught all 3 of his targets for 39 yards. With the Lions leaking points to slot receivers, expect a big game for JSN.

Note: Demon picks increase your payout on PrizePicks, as they are harder projections to hit.

Game Prediction: Lions 24, Seahawks 21

With both teams looking to take advantage of different weaknesses, look for the Lions to edge the Seahawks in a close one in the end.

This will be the first true test for the Seahawks defense, who have played poor offenses in their first three games. Now, they play veteran Geno Smith and will be missing four starters on defense.

The three quarterbacks Seattle has faced so far are Bo Nix, Jacoby Brissett, and Skylar Thompson — not exactly cream of the crop. Going to Detroit in primetime to face the likes of QB Jared Goff, Montgomery, RB Jahmyr Gibbs, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, and TE Sam LaPorta is a much more difficult ask.

The Lions don’t want to drop this game at home and move to 1-2 on their home turf to start the season. Look for them to do just enough to get the win over Seattle in the end.
