Titans vs. Dolphins Monday Night Football: Time, How to Watch
Date: Monday, September 30, 2024
Time: 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff
Location: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Garden, Fla.
TV: ESPN
Both the Titans and Dolphins have a lot of questions as we approach the quarter mark of the season. Each team certainly needs a win as they’ve struggled in the early going; the Titans because of the lack of talent, while the Dolphins have to weather through another unfortunate injury to QB Tua Tagovailoa.
The Titans have a new head coach in Brian Callahan, and he’s stuck with second-year QB Will Levis under center. The Titans are still looking for their first win, but have lost by only a touchdown in the last two.
The Dolphins were considered contenders in the AFC to start the year, but without Tagovailoa, they look lost. This week, the Dolphins will start Tyler Huntley at QB, due to QB Skylar Thompson’s rib injury.
Titans vs. Dolphins Picks for Sunday Night Football
- Dolphins RB De’Von Achane 64.5 Rushing Yards – LESS
- Dolphins P Jake Bailey 1.5 Punts Inside 20 – MORE
- Titans RB Tony Pollard 68.5 Rush+Rec Yards – MORE
- Titans QB Will Levis 0.5 Passing Touchdowns – MORE (Goblin Pick)
Dolphins RB De’Von Achane 64.5 Rushing Yards – LESS
Update: RB Raheem Mostert is not expected to play after practicing in limited fashion all week. Proceed with caution here, as Achane should get the bulk of the backfield carries for Miami.
Without QB Tua Tagovailoa, the Dolphins have not been able to generate any offense. Last week against Seattle, they had 205 total yards, including 65 yards on the ground. Now, they’ll turn to QB Tyler Huntley, a dual-threat QB who previously backed up Lamar Jackson in Baltimore.
Last week was against a Seahawks defense that’s been average this season, allowing 116.3 rushing yards per game — 15th in the NFL. Now, they’ll face a Titans run defense that hasn’t been much worse, allowing 124.3 yards per game..
Three things could hurt Achane’s production: Tennessee will defend against the run and stack the box with Huntley under center; Huntley will likely have some designed runs; and RB Raheem Mostert is questionable, and is leaning toward playing.
Achane only had 30 rushing yards last week, and it shouldn’t be much better on Monday.

Dolphins P Jake Bailey 1.5 Punts Inside 20 – MORE
Dolphins punter Jake Bailey was busy last week against Seattle. Bailey had six punt attempts, three of which landed inside the 20-yard line. On the year, Bailey has seven punts inside the 20 in three games.
Bailey did very well at flipping the field last week, and he’ll likely need to do the same this week with Huntley at QB. Just like last week, we shouldn’t expect much offense from the Dolphins as they struggle without Tagovailoa.
This is likely to be a sloppy game offensively, as both teams are struggling to move the ball in their current state. We could see plenty of punts on both sides.
Titans RB Tony Pollard 68.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards – MORE
The Dolphins have been burned by dual-threat running backs the last two weeks.
In Week 2, Bills RB James Cook had 78 yards on the ground and a 17-yard receiving touchdown. Seahawks back-up RB Zach Charbonnet followed that up with 91 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, and 16 yards through the air.
Pollard had a dud last week, but in the two previous games, he was the feature back, and he should get the larger snap share going forward. Pollard is averaging 13 carries and over four targets per game in three straight losses — he’s seeing plenty of opportunity, even when the Titans lose.
It’d be smart for the Titans to ease the load on QB Will Levis and keep the ball on the ground. If the Titans get up against the Dolphins No. 3 QB, that could be a positive game script for Pollard to get even more carries.
Titans QB Will Levis 0.5 Passing Touchdowns – MORE (Goblin Pick)
You have to wonder how the Titans feel about QB Will Levis at this point. They went all-in with the 2024 2nd round pick, as they didn’t re-sign QB Ryan Tannehill and traded QB Malik Willis.
It hasn’t been the best sophomore season, as he’s 24th in passing yards in the NFL (579) and has a 4:5 TD-INT ratio.
This is a plus matchup for Levis though. The Dolphins are 23rd in defensive dropback success rate (49.4%), and 28th in dropback EPA. It’s a solid opportunity for Levis to get right here.
The one positive you can take away from Levi’s season so far is that he has thrown a touchdown in each game. Miami’s defense has allowed a passing touchdown in every game, so Levis should be able to keep this streak alive.
