Week 6 Fantasy Football Injury News

Texans WR Nico Collins (Hamstring) Placed on IR

Texans WR Nico Collins was forced to leave early against the Bills on Sunday because of a hamstring injury, and he’s now been placed on injured reserve. Texans WRs Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell will be left to lead the wide receiver position in his absence.

Diggs caught six of eight targets for 82 yards in Week 5, while Dell caught all four of his targets for 38 yards. Collins has a 24.7% target share on the year, so Diggs and Dell will be needed, in addition to TE Dalton Schultz.

Colts QB Anthony Richardson (Oblique) Game-Time Decision

Colts QB Anthony Richardson did not play in Week 5, paving the way for Colts QB Joe Flacco to start. Flacco dominated the Jaguars, throwing for 359 yards and three touchdowns. Despite Flacco playing so well, Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that Richardson will start when he returns to full health.

Richardson could make his return in Week 6 against the Titans, as he’s a game-time decision. On Saturday, Richardson said he plans to play on Sunday.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (Ankle) Out

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor was also sidelined against the Jaguars. Unlike Richardson, Taylor’s replacement didn’t exactly thrive. Colts RB Trey Sermon turned 10 carries into 38 yards and one touchdown, in addition to six receptions for 25 yards.

Also unlike Richardson, Taylor will remain out again this week, leaving Sermon to lead this backfield again against the Titans.

Eagles WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith Set to Return

The bye week came at the right time for the Eagles, as both Eagles WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are battling injuries and neither were available against the Bucs in Week 4.

Brown has not played since Week 1 after picking up the injury in practice. Brown practiced in full this week, and looks set to play this week. Smith cleared concussion protocol and also will play.

The Eagles offense should be back to firing on all cylinders this weekend against the Browns with their offense at full strength.

Other NFL Week 6 Injuries for DFS

  • Raiders WR Davante Adams is not expected to play again in Week 6. Not only is he battling a hamstring injury, but he also wants to be traded. With Adams out the last two games. Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers has combined for 11 receptions for 121 yards.
  • Texans RB Joe Mixon is expected to return this week against the Patriots, per Adam Schefter. It wouldn’t be surprising to see more of a split in the backfield after Cam Akers’ recent success.
  • Chargers RB Gus Edwards was placed on Injured Reserve with an ankle injury. That should open up a workhorse role for RB JK Dobbins, while rookie Kimani Vidal is expected to play the RB2 role for the Chargers.
  • Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. is out this week against the Ravens. It’s a brutal game for Washington to be without its RB1, but it should open more rushing opportunities for QB Jayden Daniels.
  • Packers WR Christian Watson (ankle) did not play in Week 5 and still has the potential to miss at least one more game. Watson was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable. Packers WR Jayden Reed played well in Watson’s absence, catching four of six targets for 78. Packers TE Tucker Kraft also chipped in four receptions for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
  •  Saints QB Derek Carr is going to miss multiple weeks after suffering an oblique injury in Week 5. While Saints QB Jake Haener came in for Carr when he went down, Saints QB Spencer Rattler is also in consideration to start in Week 6 against the Buccaneers.
  • Browns TE David Njoku returned from a three-game absence because of an ankle injury, but departed Sunday’s game against the Commanders with a knee injury. His status is still in doubt for a Week 6 matchup against the Eagles. Over the three previous games that Njoku missed, Browns TE Jordan Akins caught a total of just six passes for 49 yards.
  • Bills RB James Cook is listed as questionable for Monday Night Football, as he did not practice on Friday. Cooks is reportedly expected to play.

NFL Week 6 Pass Defenses to Target

Panthers Defense vs. Falcons

The Panthers haven’t been able to generate much pressure, totaling just six sacks all season. Per rbsdm, their .248 expected points added per dropback (EPA) is the third-worst mark in the league. Panthers are near the bottom of the league in nearly every passing defense metric, so the Falcons should be able to move the ball with ease.

Falcons QB Kirk Cousins threw for 509 yards and four touchdowns against the Buccaneers last week, so expect him to have plenty of upside again in this matchup.

PrizePicks to consider: Kirk Cousins 255.5 Pass Yards / Drake London 69.5 Receiving Yards

Commanders Defense vs. Ravens

Teams often need to throw a lot to try and keep pace with the Commanders’ high-powered offense. The problem for the Commanders is that they have allowed a 12.7% explosive pass rate, which is the 10th-highest mark in the league, per 4for4 Fantasy Football. The Commanders are also 26th in dropback EPA, at .177 expected points added per dropback.

They will have their hands full with Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, who is averaging 8.0 yards per pass attempt.

PrizePicks to consider: Lamar Jackson 223.5 Pass Yards / Zay Flowers 58.5 Receiving Yards

NFL Week 6 Run Defenses to Target

Panthers Defense vs. Falcons

Well well well, look who it is. Teams have also been able to run all over the Panthers, who have given up the sixth-most rushing yards per game (144.6) in the league.

Per 4for4 Fantasy Football, their explosive rush rate allowed of 8.49% is middle-of-the-pack at 13th in the league. However, with their opponents consistently building big early leads, the Panthers’ defense has the third-most rushing attempts against them (167) in the league.

That should give the Falcons plenty of opportunity to run the ball with RB Bijan Robinson this week as they cruise to a W. Robinson was also chosen as a top TD scorer prediction for Week 6.

PrizePicks to consider: Bijan Robinson 68.5 Rush Yards / 0.5 Rush+Rec TDs (Goblin Pick)

Cardinals Defense vs Packers

The Cardinals’ defense has struggled, allowing 25.8 points per game. A big area of weakness for them has been trying to defend the run.

Their 11.5% explosive rush rate allowed is the ninth-highest mark in the league, per 4for4 Fantasy Football. Their rush defense is also 28th in rush success rate (45.5%). Packers RB Josh Jacobs has received at least 16 carries in three of five games this season and is averaging 4.5 yards per carry.

PrizePicks to consider: Josh Jacobs 68.5 Rush Yards / 16.5 Rush Attempts

Week 6 NFL DFS Picks for PrizePicks

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott 283.5 Passing Yards — More

This projection for Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has been on the rise this week, originally starting at 261.5 and ripping to where it is now. Prescott has thrown for at least 293 yards in three of his first five games. In the two games that he didn’t, the Cowboys’ offense didn’t need to do much to earn a victory, as they cruised.

Prescott threw for just 179 yards in a lopsided win over the Browns in Week 1 and 221 yards in a Week 4 game in which the Giants’ offense could only kick field goals. This should be a high-scoring affair with the Lions, who have one of the most potent offenses in the league.

Teams throwing a lot against them has contributed to the Lions allowing the sixth-most passing yards per game (258.3) in the league. In addition, the Cowboys flat out cannot run the ball, as they’re averaging 82 yards per game (31st) and 3.5 yards per attempt (31st).

If Prescott isn’t airing it out, the Cowboys are toast.

Other PrizePicks to Consider: 324.5 Pass Yards (Demon) / CeeDee Lamb 89.5 Receiving Yards

Commanders WR Terry McLaurin 57.5 Receiving Yards – More

We talked about the Ravens offense, but we can also target the Commanders’ offense in this game. As good as their own offense is, the Ravens’ defense has allowed the sixth-highest explosive pass rate (14.5%) in the league, per 4for4 Fantasy Football

That could be music to the ears of Commanders WR Terry McLaurin, who has an average depth of target of 14.6 yards. That has helped him record at least 100 receiving yards in two of his last three games.

This should be a heavy pass funnel game for the Commanders, who should have to rely on the pass game a lot with Robinson sidelined.

Best Touchdown Scorer Pick: Titans RB Tony Pollard 0.5 Rush+Rec TDs (Demon)

Titans RB Tony Pollard has received at least one red zone rushing attempt in all four games this season. That has included six rushing attempts from inside the 10-yard line. He should be continue to be the go-to in high-leverage spots for the Titans.

Pollard has produced two rushing touchdowns so far and is in a favorable position to reach the end zone again versus the Colts, who have allowed an average of 24.4 points per game.

Note: Demon picks add a payout boost to your lineup on PrizePicks, as they are more difficult projections to hit

Ravens RB Derrick Henry 0.5 Rush+Rec TD Scorer (Goblin)

It’s not often that you see a player to record a rushing or receiving touchdown as a Goblin pick. However, it’s justified with Ravens RB Derrick Henry. He has posted at least one touchdown in all five games this season.

He has done so on the strength of 10 rushing attempts inside the five-yard line. In what has the makings of a high-scoring matchup with the Commanders, Henry could receive multiple red-zone carries again, especially as the Ravens are expected to lead.

Note: Goblin picks reduce your payout on PrizePicks, as they are easier projections to hit.
