Who is Playing in the Super Bowl 2025?
The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will play in the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans, La., on Feb. 9, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The Chiefs come into the game with the best record in the NFL, with only two losses all season. The Chiefs defeated the Bills in the AFC Championship, 32-29, to advance to the Super Bowl for the fifth time in the last six years.
The Eagles return to the Super Bowl for the second time in three years after their 55-23 win over the Washington Commanders, as they ran away with the NFC Championship in the fourth quarter.
The last time the Chiefs and Eagles faced off in the Super Bowl in 2023, the Chiefs overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to win the game, 38-35, thanks to a 27-yard Harrison Butker field goal with only eight seconds left.
Kansas City Chiefs: Super Bowl 2025 First Look
The Chiefs are looking to win their third-straight Super Bowl. No team has done that in NFL history. They reached this opportunity because of their stellar play at home again. They went 8-0 at home during the regular season, then won both of their playoff games at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Super Bowl will be played in New Orleans, but the neutral site isn’t exactly a deterrent for the Chiefs, since Patrick Mahomes has already won three Super Bowls on neutral fields, and this game will be played over 1,200 miles from Philadelphia.
The Chiefs have plenty of stars on offense, but they didn’t exactly light up the scoreboard during the regular season. They averaged 22.6 points per game, which ranked 15th in the league. Per 4for4 Fantasy Football, they had the lowest explosive rush percentage (6.07%) in the league. They also had the fifth-lowest explosive pass percentage (10.69%).
That said, they dealt with several injuries to key position players, which are now set to go in the Super Bowl.
Their defense was their strength. They allowed just 19.2 points per game, which was the fourth-lowest mark in the league. They were particularly adept at stopping the run, allowing the sixth-fewest yards per carry (4.1).
Offensive Player to Watch: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes will be trying to win his fourth Super Bowl against the Eagles. Last year, he threw for 333 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT against the 49ers. He also had 9 carries for 66 yards. When he faced the Eagles in the Super Bowl two seasons ago, he only threw for 182 yards. However, he had three passing touchdowns and 44 rushing yards.
In 20 career playoff games, Mahomes has thrown for 43 touchdowns.
Mahomes has shown an ability to take care of the football when it matters the most. In his last nine playoff games, he has thrown just 1 INT. He has been accurate, in general, posting a career 67.8% completion percentage in the playoffs.
PrizePicks is offering a Patrick Mahomes Free Pick for the Super Bowl. If he throws for one yard, he’ll cash his Super Bowl passing yards projection. That means you only need to get one more pick correct to cash in — or add more picks to reach higher payouts!
Defensive Player to Watch: Chiefs DL Chris Jones
Chiefs DL Chris Jones is one of the best defensive linemen in the league, and a huge reason this defense has been so successful. He did have a bit of a disappointing regular season with just five sacks. He had totaled 26 sacks over the previous two seasons.
Given the mobility of Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, Jones putting pressure on him and helping to contain him inside the pocket could be key for the Chiefs’ defense to succeed.

Philadelphia Eagles: Super Bowl 2025 First Look
The Eagles thrived at home this season, going a combined 11-1 in Philadelphia, including the playoffs. Their defense was excellent during the regular season, allowing the second-fewest points per game (17.8) in the league. Per 4for4, they ranked second in pass EPA per play allowed (-0.09) and fourth in rush EPA per play allowed (-0.12).
The Eagles deploy a run-heavy offense. They had 621 rushing attempts during the regular season, which was the most in the league. The next closest team was the Ravens with 554 rushing attempts. They lean on RB Saquon Barkley, in addition to read-option and QB runs with Jalen Hurts.
With the Eagles running the ball so much, they had the fewest pass attempts (448) in the NFL. While they didn’t throw the ball a ton, they had the seventh-highest pass EPA per play (0.09) in the league, per 4for4.
Offensive Player to Watch: Eagles RB Saquon Barkley
The signing of RB Saquon Barkley has provided immediate dividends for the Eagles. He had a regular season for the record books, rushing for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns. He averaged 5.8 yards per carry after averaging just 3.9 yards per carry with the Giants the season prior. That was on a whopping 345 rushing attempts. Previously, he never had more than 295 carries in a season for this career.
Barkley has not slowed down in the playoffs. He has rushed for at least 118 yards in all three games. In the Divisional Round, he torched the Rams for 205 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries. Against the Commanders last week, he added three more rushing touchdowns.
This will be Barkley’s first Super Bowl appearance, and it’ll come on his 28th birthday. If the Eagles are going to pull off the upset and prevent the Chiefs from making history, Barkley will likely need to play a leading role.
Defensive Player to Watch: Eagles LB Zack Baun
The offseason addition of LB Zack Baun has also been a big reason why the Eagles have reached the Super Bowl. In his first four seasons with the Saints, he never finished with more than 30 tackles. This season, he had 151 tackles for the Eagles, and played a key role in the middle of the field. Baun has green-dot duties, essentially making him the quarterback of the Eagles’ defense, and he plays like it, consistently getting to the ball.
With a trip to the Super Bowl on the line, he racked up 12 tackles against the Commanders in the NFC Championship. Including that performance, he has nine games with at least 10 tackles this season.
