Relief Pitchers Sleepers for 2025 Fantasy Baseball
Here are three of the top relief pitcher sleepers for the 2025 fantasy baseball season to target in your fantasy baseball draft.
Tanner Scott, Dodgers – RP15
Tanner Scott had a dominant 2024 season, posting a 1.75 ERA and a 2.92 FIP over 72 innings. He racked up 22 saves while splitting time between the Marlins and Padres. He also posted a 28.6% strikeout rate to go along with his 1.13 WHIP.
Now a member of the Dodgers, he would seemingly be lined up to record a bunch of saves for one of the best teams in baseball. However, the Dodgers have a deep bullpen that also contains Kirby Yates, Michael Kopech, and Blake Treinen, so Scott could lose save chances here and there.
Still, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see record at least 25 saves in a season for the first time in his career.
Kyle Finnegan, Nationals – RP18
Kyle Finnegan is not your traditional closer. He doesn’t miss a ton of bats, generating a 23.5% strikeout rate for his career. He posted a 4.24 FIP last season, which is right in line with his career FIP of 4.24. However, after saving 28 games for the Nationals in 2023, he finished third in all of baseball with 38 saves last season.
That total might be difficult to replicate, but there’s no reason to believe that he can’t at least approach 30 saves again. That makes him a viable target for those who don’t want to draft closers early.
Jordan Romano, Phillies – RP22
Injuries derailed Romano last year, limiting him to just 13.2 innings with the Blue Jays. Prior to that, he had recorded back-to-back seasons with 36 saves each. He also posted an ERA below 3.00 and a strikeout rate of at least 28.3% in both of those seasons.
Now a member of the Phillies, he has a chance to establish himself as their primary closer over Matt Strahm, Jose Alvarado, and Orion Kerkering. If he does, another 30-save season could be in the cards.
