Ashton Jeanty 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook & Projections for NFL SZN
The Raiders are looking to turn the page on what has been a series of seasons without any sustained success. In a division filled with NFL powerhouses like the Chiefs, the Raiders have a long process ahead of them, but they got one step closer on Thursday night by drafting RB Ashton Jeanty.
The Heisman trophy runner-up had a monstrous season at Boise State, nearly claiming the most rushing yards in a single season. Jeanty shows an amazing burst of energy and the ability to read blocks well which leads him to being one of the most aggressive runners in the draft.
Below, we’ll go through Jeanty’s 2025 fantasy football outlook and projections for his rookie season for the Raiders.
Jeanty’s projections are live on PrizePicks’ NFLSZN game, where you can pick More or Less on season-long fantasy football projections to win real money, including rookies like Jeanty, Travis Hunter, and Cam Ward.
Ashton Jeanty Fantasy Football Projections
Here are Ashton Jeanty’s fantasy football projections for his rookie season, via the NFLSZN board on PrizePicks.
- 1,050.5 rushing yards
- 7.5 rushing touchdowns
Jeanty is expected to be the Raiders’ RB1 going into the season, as he proved this past season he had the ability to be a three-down back, with 374 carries. Behind him is a waning veteran in Raheem Mostert and two middling options in Sincere McCormick and Zamir White, who will all most likely split the leftover carries.
McCormick was the only of those three backups to rush for over 4.0 yards per carry last year — 4.7 yards on a 39 carry sample size. It’s unlikely the Raiders want to give any of these guys any serious amount of work that makes them fantasy relevant.
Plain and simple, it’s Jeanty’s backfield in Las Vegas — as it should be when you use the sixth-overall pick on him.
Where Does Ashton Jeanty Rank for Fantasy Football?
Jeanty will walk into the NFL as a top 10 fantasy football running back for 2025, as there aren’t many other NFL backs who can expect his kind of volume this season. Combine that with his talent that made him the sixth-overall pick, and he’s set to be a RB1 on fantasy football teams.
Amongst the available running backs on PrizePicks NFLSZN game, Jeanty is projected to rank sixth out of 19 in rushing yards while his projection for rushing touchdowns would place him in 10th out of 13 running backs.
Jeanty falls into two different places between these categories, as he will likely get the volume to have a 1,000-yard season, but the Raiders may struggle to give him end-zone opportunities with Geno Smith under center.
The Raiders ranked 27th in red-zone opportunities last year (45), and 27th in converting those opportunities into touchdowns (48.9%). Many top running back options will get goal-line chances, which is why their projection for touchdowns is higher.
Draft or Fade Ashton Jeanty?
Lean toward drafting Ashton Jeanty before fading him this fantasy football season. The Raiders struggled heavily last season due to a lack of a running game and struggling quarterback play. Their leading passer and rusher had 2,013 and 420 yards respectively — numbers that are abysmal in today’s NFL.
While the only bright spot last season for the Raiders was rookie TE Brock Bowers, there isn’t much to go off of. Las Vegas made a slight upgrade at quarterback by bringing in Geno Smith however, he is getting up in age as he turns 35 this season and had a very mediocre season.
This should lead the Raiders to rely heavily on the running game as they look to relieve some pressure from Smith.
Jeanty proved this past season he can take on a major workload and be a three-down back at the next level. Although Las Vegas’ offensive line struggled last season, the Raiders have already taken necessary steps to revitalize this offense by drafting a wide receiver and two crucial pieces on the line.
Jeanty will look to get a huge amount of carries this season while his legs are fresh and available, as long as the Raiders are competitive in games. If the offensive line can show some progression, he should have some success.
