1. Miami QB Cam Ward
Height: 6 feet, 2 inches
Weight: 223 pounds
40-yard Dash Time: 4.87 seconds
2024 Stats: 305-for-454 (67.2%), 4,313 passing yards, 39 Pass TDs (Led FBS), 7 INTs
Draft Prediction: No. 1 pick
⭐️ Cam Ward Full Scouting Report
It seems to be a conclusion that Cam Ward will be drafted as the overall No. 1 pick to the Tennessee Titans. It sounds like the Will Levis experiment could be over after two years, and for the Titans, this will be the third quarterback they draft in four seasons.
After two years of excellent numbers at Washington State, Ward transferred to Miami and became one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. He helped Miami have one of the most explosive offenses in the country and led the team to an FBS-best 42.9 points per game.
Ward has the mix of elite arm talent, accuracy, and mobility that can make him a Week 1 starter if the Titans decide to go that direction. Teams will love his ability to make big throws, and he had at least three explosive plays (completions of 20 or more yards) in each regular-season game this year.
His size, combined with his mobility, will make him hard to take down even by physical NFL defenses, and his throw on the move will make him dangerous.
Ward also possesses the intangible of being a leader and commanding an offense in big moments. Last season, he played in close games, went toe to toe with opponents, and even led a 25-point deficit against Cal for a win.
Whether it’s Tennessee or another franchise that wants to trade up to get Ward, they’ll get someone with the complete package.
2. Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
⭐️ Shedeur Sanders Full Scouting Report
Height: 6-2
Weight: 215 pounds
40-yard Dash Time: 4.68
2024 Stats: 352-for-447 (Led Big 12) (74.2%, Led FBS), 4,134 passing yards (Led Big 12), 37 Pass TDs (Led Big 12), ten INTs
Draft Prediction: Mid-first round
Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders is one of the notable quarterback prospects in this draft, and it isn’t only because of his abilities on the field. However, that shouldn’t deter teams from drafting him because he has the potential to be a long-time starter.
Sanders will go down as the most accurate passer in college football history at 71.8%. Sanders is very smart when he makes his decisions, will stay away from double and triple coverage, and can hit tight windows.
That NFL pedigree has already instilled him in an important position, and he can make adjustments at the line of scrimmage, which is something that takes years to perfect for certain quarterbacks.
That has also helped him understand the culture of the NFL. His extroverted personality allows him to be a vocal leader, and he could get the captain patch in his rookie season.
While he’s great at short and intermediate routes, he lacks confidence in making the big play, so in third and very long situations, it could be a check-down situation and hope for the best.
He is a highly talented quarterback, but there are some things he still needs to develop. In the right system, Sanders could be a franchise quarterback who makes his team a contender.
3. Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss
⭐️ Jaxson Dart Full Scouting Report
Height: 6 feet, 2 inches
Weight: 225 pounds
40-yard Dash Time: 4.85 seconds
2024 Stats: 276-for-398 (69.3%, Led SEC), 4,279 passing yards (Led SEC), 29 Pass TDs, 6 INTs
Draft Prediction: Mid-first round
No one has benefited more from the offseason draft process than Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart. For most of the season, he wasn’t in the Day 1 conversation, and now we're hearing teams might want to trade back into the first round to get him.
Dart may be the most prepared quarterback going into the draft, thanks to the system he played in at Ole Miss. He has a lot of experience commanding an up-tempo spread offense and is an excellent decision-maker in an RPO.
He wants to be a traditional pocket passer, but he can be mobile when needed. The largest problem he has — especially with someone who wants to be in the pocket — is that there are concerns with his route progression. Dart will bail out of his progression early and not let plays develop, or he will focus on his intended receiver and not look off defenders.
There is a lot of raw talent, and it could be a situation like Bo Nix, where he could go earlier than expected as teams have fallen in love with him through the draft process.
4. Jalen Milroe, Alabama
Height: 6 feet, 2 inches
Weight: 225 pounds
40-yard Dash Time: 4.40 seconds
2024 Stats: 205-for-319 (64.3%), 2,884 passing yards, 16 Pass TDs, 11 INTs
Draft Prediction: Third round
If Alabama QB Jalen Milroe had come out last season, his draft stock might have been much better. This season, he and Alabama took a big step backward; he regressed in Pass TDs (23 in 2023 to 16 in 2024), yards per attempt (10.0 to 8.9), yards per completion (15.2 to 13.9), and nearly doubled his INTs (6 to 11).
This isn’t largely concerning; he threw 35 more passes this season, but it only increased his yards per game by 0.8. Staying in the pocket rather than bail out early was something he needed to correct, and he made that adjustment this season, but it still isn’t quite ready to start at the NFL level.
The physical tools are there, and if he can improve his decision-making and become more confident in the pocket, then he can develop into a potential starting quarterback. It will take the right coaching and patience to get him there.
5. Quinn Ewers, Texas
Height: 6 feet, 2 inches
Weight: 210 pounds
40-yard Dash Time: 4.74 seconds
2024 Stats: 293-for-445 (65.8%), 3,472 passing yards, 31 Pass TDs (Led SEC), 12 INTs (Most in SEC)
Draft Prediction: Late third to fourth round
Texas QB Quinn Ewers was another highly-touted prospect coming into 2025; some would argue that he was a potential first-round pick. However, it was another season where Ewers missed time with an injury, and he could have that injury-prone tag coming into the draft.
The arm talent is there. Ewers slings the ball as well as any of the top prospects and connects with receivers on verticals but struggles with complex routes. When he gets into a rhythm, he almost can miss. With his ability to make adjustments on the fly and hit from different arm angles, he can put together impressive drives.
With a clean pocket, he’s great, but the moment you get him uncomfortable, he makes mistakes. None was more evident than in the matchups against Georgia.
Georgia’s defense had him scrambling throughout both games, and he struggled to get any momentum going for Texas, which led to losing both of those games.
With his arm talent, several teams will be looking at him. The good news for a franchise is that they will be able to get him much later than if he came out last year, especially someone who could be a project.
6. Will Howard, Ohio State
Height: 6 feet, 4 inches
Weight: 235 pounds
40-yard Dash Time: 4.85 seconds
2024 Stats: 309-for-423 (73.0%, Led Big Ten), 4,010 passing yards (Led Big Ten), 35 Pass TDs (Led Big Ten), 10 INTs (Most in SEC)
Draft Prediction: Fourth round
7. Dillon Gabriel, Oregon
Height: 6 feet
Weight: 200 pounds
40-yard Dash Time: 4.83 seconds
2024 Stats: 326-for-447 (Led Big Ten) (72.9%), 3,857 passing yards, 30 Pass TDs, 6 INTs
Draft Prediction: Late fourth or fifth round
8. Kyle McCord, Syracuse
Height: 6 feet, 3 inches
Weight: 210 pounds
40-yard Dash Time: 4.95 seconds
2024 Stats: 391-for-592 (Led FBS) (66.0%), 4,779 passing yards (Led FBS), 34 Pass TDs, 12 INTs (Most in ACC)
Draft Prediction: Fifth round
9. Tyler Shough, Louisville
Height: 6 feet, 5 inches
Weight: 225 pounds
40-yard Dash Time: 4.63 seconds
2024 Stats: 244-for-389 (62.7%), 3,195 passing yards, 23 Pass TDs, 6 INTs
Draft Prediction: Fifth round
10. Riley Leonard, Notre Dame
Height: 6 feet, 4 inches
Weight: 205 pounds
40-yard Dash Time: 4.52 seconds
2024 Stats: 269-for-403 (66.7%), 2,861 passing yards, 21 Pass TDs, 8 INTs
Draft Prediction: Six or seventh round
