Baylor vs. Duke: Preview, Pick

Time: 2:40 p.m. ET
How to Watch: CBS

Duke (32-3, 19-1 ACC) cruised to a 93-49 blowout of 16-seed Mount St. Mary’s in Friday’s first round matchup. Freshman star Cooper Flagg returned to the lineup after missing two games with an ankle injury. Flagg scored 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds in 22 minutes.

Baylor (20-14, 10-10 Big 12) held off Mississippi State, 75-72, marking their fifth straight win in the first round of the tournament. The Bears shot 6-of-24 from 3-point range as Baylor has shot 33% or worse from long distance in six consecutive games.

Duke defeated Baylor in December 2023 at Madison Square Garden, 78-70.

The Blue Devils are seeking their seventh Round of 16 appearance since 2015. The Bears have failed to advance past the second round in each of the past three seasons.

Here are a few key stats to help you make your DFS picks for Sunday’s Second Round matinee on PrizePicks:

  • Duke G Kon Knueppel has scored 15 points or more in eight of the past 10 games. The freshman’s projected point total at PrizePicks is set at 14.5.
  • Flagg’s points and rebounds projection sits at 26.5 on Sunday. Flagg has finished with less than 26 combined points and boards in six of the last seven games.
  • Baylor leading scorer Norchad Omier has recorded 10 consecutive double-doubles.
  • Omier’s rebound projection is set at 10 against Duke. The senior has eclipsed that projection in nine of the last 13 games.
  • Baylor G VJ Edgecomb has recorded five rebounds or more in 10 of the last 11 games.
  • Duke has limited its last three opponents to shoot 15-of-70 from 3-point range.
  • KenPom projects this game with an estimated 143 points.

CBB PrizePicks Pick: Baylor F Norchad Omier — 10 Rebounds

Illinois vs. Kentucky: Preview, Pick

Time: 5:15 p.m. ET
How to Watch: CBS

Kentucky (23-11, 10-8 SEC) is looking to advance to the Round of 16 for the first time since 2019. The Wildcats cruised past Troy on Friday, 76-57 to improve to 9-8 in the last 17 games.

Illinois (22-12, 12-8 Big Ten) has played better down the stretch since getting rolled by Duke on February 22. The Fighting Illini own a 5-1 record the last six games following an 86-73 win over Xavier in the first round.

In spite of Kentucky’s inconsistency down the stretch, the Wildcats rank 10th in the country in offensive efficiency. Kentucky finished dead-last in SEC play by allowing 56.6% on 2-point tries, including seven times yielding at least 60% on 2-pointers.

Illinois’ offense ranks 16th in the nation on 2-point attempts at 57.2%, while knocking down at least 11 3-pointers in four of the last five games.

Here are a few key stats to help you make your DFS picks for Sunday’s showdown on PrizePicks:

  • Kentucky G Otega Oweh scored 20 points or more in seven of his last 10 games.
  • Oweh’s point projection is set at 19.5 on PrizePicks. The junior scored 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting in Friday’s first round win over Troy.
  • Wildcats G Koby Brea has drilled at least three 3-pointers in six of his last nine games.
  • Illinois G Kasparas Jakucionis finished one rebound shy of a triple-double in Friday’s victory over Xavier.
  • The freshman’s points, rebounds, and assists projection is set at 28. Jakucionis didn’t exceed this number in his previous eight games prior to Friday.
