Saturday CBB Games to Target for Men’s College Basketball DFS
Here are the two best games to target for CBB DFS fantasy production today, Saturday, February 1.
North Carolina vs. No. 2 Duke: Preview, Pick
Time: 6:30 p.m. ET
How to Watch: ESPN
The North Carolina Tar Heels (13-9, 6-4) take the ten mile drive to Durham to face its heated rival, the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils (18-2, 10-0) in what should be a raucous Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Duke fans smell blood in the water. North Carolina is coming off another late-game loss to fellow tournament bubble team Pittsburgh. The loss dropped UNC to a shocking nine losses before February, and fans are starting to question head coach Hubert Davis.
Meanwhile, the Blue Devils have generally breezed through ACC play and have just two very close losses on the year — both neutral-site games against fellow national championship contenders No. 11 Kansas and No. 12 Kentucky. Some are saying the key to Duke’s success is freshman phenom Cooper Flagg, who leads the team in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.
That’s valid; Flagg is projected to go first overall in the 2025 NBA Draft, and he is the favorite to win the Naismith College Player of the Year award. But don’t sleep on the impact of his supporting cast.
Duke freshmen Kon Knueppel (13.1 points per game) and Isaiah Evans (45.1% from three) can shoot the lights out. Veterans Tyrese Proctor and Sion James have carried the team when called upon.
One player who is slept on is freshman big man Khaman Maluach. The 7-foot-2 projected lottery pick played good minutes for a sneaky South Sudan national team in the 2024 Summer Olympics that narrowly lost to Team USA in a scrimmage and challenged it again later on. Assuming he is healthy after leaving the last game with an illness, Maluach should play a big role in tonight’s showdown.
Per KenPom, Duke is the tallest team in the country. By contrast, North Carolina relies heavily on impact guard play from R.J. Davis (17.6 PPG), Ian Jackson (14.7) and sixth man Seth Trimble (12.3). Thus, the team is listed as just the 322nd tallest — out of 364 — in all of college basketball.
Maluach and the Blue Devils lead the nation in rebounding percentage (58.7%). Pair all of that with the potential absence of big man Jalen Washington, and it looks like rebounding might come at a premium for UNC.
Duke-UNC always delivers. So while KenPom projects Duke to win by 15 points, I would definitely expect a much closer game. If he stays out of foul trouble and the game stays tight, look for Maluach to green out Saturday night.

No. 25 UConn vs. No. 9 Marquette: Preview, Pick
Time: 8 p.m. ET
How to Watch: FOX
The Connecticut Huskies (15-6, 7-3) travel to Milwaukee to take on the No. 9 Marquette Golden Eagles (18-3, 9-1) Saturday night.
It’s been scary hours for the back-to-back defending national champions. The UConn Huskies dropped a home game to Creighton, a road game at Xavier, and had to battle back in the second half against Big East bottom-feeders Butler and DePaul. The struggles can be attributed to the absence of star freshman Liam McNeeley, but this team is too well-coached and too talented to be struggling this regularly.
On the other hand, Marquette has established itself as the clear-cut class of an underwhelming Big East conference. Led by conference player of the year contender Kam Jones (18.9 PPG) and hometown product David Joplin (14.6 PPG), Marquette is quietly building a very strong resume heading into the latter half of conference play.
All signs point to a big night for UConn forward Alex Karaban. The two-time NCAA champion considered turning pro after turning in an incredibly efficient sophomore campaign, but ran it back for a chance at an unprecedented three-peat for the Huskies. Since returning from injury in mid-December, Karaban has logged 34 or more minutes in every game.
Perhaps Marquette’s biggest weakness is its rebounding prowess. The Golden Eagles rank just 266th in the nation in rebounding and struggle with more physical teams in the post. Further, Marquette allows 15 assists per game, which ranks 296th in the country.
This statistical pairing bodes well for Karaban, a low-maintenance offensive player who can take over at times but is also comfortable facilitating and rebounding. Look for the junior to find Tarris Reed in the post and guard Solo Ball and Hassan Diarra up top in what could be an intriguing upset pick in Wisconsin.
Keep an eye on Liam McNeeley’s status in this one. Even if he’s in, roll with Karaban.

CBB DFS Picks Today for PrizePicks
Here are three CBB DFS picks to put into your PrizePicks CBB Lineups for today, Saturday, February 1.
Wisconsin G John Tonje 1.5 3-PT Made — More
Wisconsin guard John Tonje has been on an absolute heater the last few games. Early in the season, the star graduate transfer had a ton of success at the rim. But teams have adjusted and started to sell out against his right-side drives to the lane.
The seasoned vet has responded by draining 16-of-26 3-point attempts (62%) in his last three games, and he looks to stay wet from three at Northwestern on Saturday afternoon.
The 1.5 3-pointers made projection on PrizePicks feels a little low, and I do think it will be close, but Tonje’s recent volume and Wisconsin’s fast-paced offense make this a nice mid-afternoon play.
Kentucky C Amari Williams 19.5 Pts+Rebs — More
Kentucky fifth-year center Amari Williams has cooked for members all season long. One of UK’s many experienced transfers, Williams has hit his combined points and rebounds projection five out of seven times during SEC play. One of the times he sold was when he played just 13 minutes with four fouls against Georgia.
TL;DR: If Williams can stay out of foul trouble and stay on the court, he should get his. This game should also be cinema; former Wildcats coach John Calipari returns to Kentucky as coach of the rival Razorbacks.

Gonzaga G Ryan Nembhard 11.0 Rebs+Asts — More
Getting home late after a night out on Saturday night? Lock in for the always-interesting Gonzaga vs. Saint Mary’s rivalry game out west.
This premier mid-major matchup is fascinating because of the drastic clash in play style — Gonzaga likes to run and gun (KenPom’s 41st in adjusted tempo), while Saint Mary’s likes to set up its offense (356th). The team that establishes the pace of play in this one typically gets the dub.
I’ll lean toward the faster Gonzaga Bulldogs, led by point guard Andrew Nembhard. The senior is averaging 9.9 assists per game and put up 13 combined rebounds and assists in each of his last two games against the Gaels.
He has also exceeded his projected 11 combined rebounds and assists in seven of nine conference games this season. If Gonzaga can play the game at its speed, Nembhard will have more possessions and more opportunities to dish the rock and cash this projection.
