How Many Wild Card Teams are in NFL?

There are a total of six Wild Card teams in the NFL: three in the AFC, and three in the NFC. There are a total of seven playoff teams in each of the two conferences — four division winners and three Wild Card teams.

On Wild Card Weekend, there are six games — two on Saturday, three on Sunday, and one on the final Monday Night Football of the season. Each game is between a division winner hosting a Wild Card team. The winners advance to the Divisional Round of the Playoffs.
