#5 Georgia vs. #2 Texas: Where to Watch, When, Prediction

Where to Watch: ABC
Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Ga.
This is the only Power Four conference championship that’s a rematch from the regular season.
The undefeated Longhorns were heavily favored in their first matchup. Although Georgia only had 24 more total yards, the end result didn’t feel that close. Georgia gave Texas a chance for an early advantage when QB Carson Beck threw an interception deep in Georgia territory, but Texas failed to capitalize.
Georgia then went on a 23-point scoring run following a Texas fumble near their own end zone. Beck threw two more interceptions, but Texas never fully capitalized on the mistakes, which have been a problem for Beck.
A key factor is the potential absence of Georgia RB Trevor Etienne. With him sidelined, Beck has returned to form. After struggling with interceptions mid-season, Beck has now gone three straight games without a pick, throwing 11 touchdowns during that span with only one turnover-worthy throw, per PFF.
The best way for Texas to move the ball is for Ewers to take deep shots, but he’ll need extra protection against the Georgia pressure. While this isn’t an elite Georgia secondary, they Bulldogs are good enough to cause trouble if allowed to double-team Isaiah Bond while maintaining solid coverage elsewhere.
We should see a better performance from Texas’ offense here, but Georgia will still come out on top.

Georgia vs. Texas Picks for PrizePicks
Here are the best Georgia vs. Texas picks for the SEC Championship Game on Saturday, December 7, for CFB DFS on PrizePicks.
Texas QB Quinn Ewers 31 Pass Attempts — Less
Texas QB Quinn Ewers threw heavily in the last game because Texas fell behind early. This game should be closer, allowing for a more balanced attack. Texas averages 48.4% pass plays (60th in FBS), and RB Quintrevion Wisner has emerged as a significant contributor, rushing for 344 yards on 59 carries over the last two games (5.8 yards per carry).
A more balanced game plan means Ewers won’t have as many attempts this time around. Take less than on his attempts.

Georgia QB Carson Beck 21 Pass Completions — More
If you had just looked at Beck’s stat line, you would have thought Georgia lost that game against Texas. Beck went through a rough patch, throwing 12 interceptions in six games, and Georgia suffered its two losses in that stretch.
He’s cleaned it up in the last three games, including a tough matchup against Tennessee and an eight-overtime game against Georgia Tech. Beck’s problem was taking risks to make big plays and not looking away at receivers who were covered; he’s been playing it safe, cutting down the yards to gain instead of trying to move the chain on one play.
The Bulldogs won’t be worried if they don’t have Etienne because RB Nate Frazier has been able to step up in his place. They are still one of the heavier passing teams in the country at 56% passing rate (20th), and that confidence in Beck has helped them overcome his recent troubles.
Georgia RB Nate Frazier 0.5 Rush+Rec TDs — More (Goblin)
Georgia should be playoff-bound regardless of the result in this game, so do not be shocked if Etienne sits this one out. It will be more important to have him ready for the playoffs.
Georgia can also let him rest because Frazier has been great at moving the ball, with 50+ rushing yards in his last three games. More importantly, he’s finding the end zone and has scored in five straight games.
Frazier is a big bruiser who can power through that tough Texas front and score in an important goal-line situation.
