Giants vs. Steelers: Time, How to Watch, Location
Date: Monday, October 28, 2024
Time: 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff
Location: Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, Penn.
How to Watch: ESPN
The Steelers and Giants find themselves on primetime tonight in much different. The 2-5 New York Giants have struggled immensely on offense, especially over their last two games, while the 5-2 Pittsburgh Steelers have momentum with new QB Russell Wilson.
Both of these defenses have shown they can get to the quarterback this season — the Steelers are 1st and the Giants are 8th in pass rush grade via PFF. This game ultimately comes down to how efficient the offenses can operate and how the offensive lines can hold up.
The Giants however, are facing an injury to arguably the best player on their team, tackle Andrew Thomas. It’ll be interesting to see how the Steelers attack this offensive line and how the Giants will game plan to minimize the pressure from the defensive unit.
Giants WR Wan’Dale Robinson 36.5 Receiving Yards — More
Giants WR Wan’Dale Robinson has solidified himself as the clear No. 2 wide receiver behind rookie Malik Nabers. Although he and WR Darius Slayton have around the same amount of yards, Robinson has caught 18 more passes on 27 more targets this season operating mostly out of the slot.
Robinson has cashed this projection five out of seven games this season. Holding an average of 8.75 yards per reception, the Giants game plan to get him involved in the short passing game.
Robinson also will matchup versus a soft spot on the Steelers stout defense. Of 22 NFL corners who have taken at least 100 snaps in the slot, Steelers main slot CB Beanie Bishop Jr. ranks 18th, giving up 1.4 yards per snap.
Losing tackle Andrew Thomas for the season will cause more pressure on Daniel Jones and force him to get the ball out quick, which is where Robinson thrives. The Giants will most likely be playing from behind this game, so looks for the Giants to turn to the pass, which could mean more targets for the 23-year-old.
Look for Jones to get the ball out quick against this defensive line on screen plays and slants and keep Robinson involved.

Steelers RB Najee Harris 64.5 Rush Yards — More
Steelers RB Najee Harris should have ample opportunity to cash this rushing yards projection. I expect the Steelers offense to have the success they were able to have last week in the passing game in QB Russell Wilson’s first start.
The Steelers should jump out to an early lead, and with more expansion of the playbook with Wilson at QB, Giants will have to respect the pass more.
Harris should be able to find gaps in the defensive line as long as the Steelers can neutralize DE Dexter Lawrence. Lawrence had 2 sacks and 5 pressures against the Eagles last week. Although the Giants defense was able to get through a struggling Eagles line, RB Saquon Barkley still managed to rush for 176 yards.
Harris looks to cash this projection for the sixth time this season as he too has cashed his projection five out of seven games this season.
TD Scorer Pick: Steelers WR George Pickens — 0.5 Rush+Rec TDs (Demon)
Steelers WR George Pickens was able to find the end zone for the first time this season against the New York Jets. The move to bring in veteran quarterback Russell Wilson proved to be the right decision.
The Steelers were able to expand the playbook, Wilson threw his classic deep balls to Pickens in 1-on-1 situations, and Pickens ate.
A struggling defense in the Giants combined with Wilson’s willingness to throw deep should allow for Pickens to find his way into the end zone again. Similar to the key to Najee Harris cashing, as long as the Steelers can limit the pressure from the defensive line, I look for the Steelers offense to have a lot of success.
Note: Demon picks add a payout boost to your lineup on PrizePicks, as they are more difficult projections to hit.

Game Prediction: Steelers 31, Giants 17
The Giants are just outmatched in this game. The injured offensive line going up against a defense led by T.J. Watt will cause problems for this offense. Last week proved that even though the Giants’ defense can get to the quarterback multiple times, the offense for the Giants just stalls too much in key points throughout the game.
The success of the Steelers offense against a top defense like the Jets proves that they can compete with practically anybody. Like stated before, the key to the Steelers winning this game will be controlling the tempo and minimizing Giants DE Dexter Lawrence from forcing pressure. If they can do that, the Steelers will have no problem running away with this game early.
We could possibly see QB Daniel Jones pulled at some point for the second straight game, though the Giants have said he won’t be pulled. Regardless, it’s something to consider if you’re taking any Jones projections or picks.
If the Giants want a chance to win, they are going to need to game plan around short passes to WRs Malik Nabers and Wan’Dale Robinson. Long developing routes with an injured line and pressure from the Steelers would be a disaster for the Giants. They need to get the ball out of Jones’ hands quickly and allow the running back group to try and break through this stiff defensive line.
