Juan Soto 2024 Stats
Soto’s lone season with the Yankees couldn’t have gone much better. He helped lead the team to the World Series, although they ultimately lost to the Dodgers. Soto launched 41 home runs during the regular season, which was the highest mark of his career.
Excluding the shortened 2020 season, Soto posted the best slugging percentage (.569) of his career and his second-highest OBP (.419). He also blew past his previous career high with 128 runs scored, which was aided by Yankees OF Aaron Judge hitting behind him.
Soto totaled 166 hits in 157 games, adding on 109 RBIs for the second year in a row.

Comparing 2025 Projections vs. Historical Data
Soto’s projection for 2025 is 34.5 home runs. Prior to 2024, Soto had never hit more than 35 home runs in a season. He hit 35 home runs in 2023, 27 home runs in 2022, and 29 home runs in 2021.
What helps Soto’s case for racking up home runs has been his ability to stay in the lineup on a daily basis. He has played in at least 150 games in each of the last five full seasons. Two seasons ago, he appeared in all 162 games for the Padres.
The short porch at Yankee Stadium also aided in Soto’s career-best HR number — which you can read more about here.
Projection Relative to Peers
Soto’s 41 home runs last season ranked fourth in the majors behind Judge (58), Dodgers DH Shohei Ohtani (54), and Orioles OF Anthony Santander (44). They were the only four players who hit at least 40 home runs. There were 11 total players who launched at least 35 home runs.
There are only five players who have a higher home run projection than Soto for 2025. They are Judge (49.5), Ohtani (43.5), Phillies OF Kyle Schwarber (36.5), Astros DH Yordan Alvarez (35.5), and Athletics OF Brent Rooker (35.5).

Will Juan Soto Thrive with the Mets?
While projections offer a baseline, Soto’s production the last two seasons showed that he could exceed his 2025 projection in home runs. However, doing so outside of the friendly confines of Yankee Stadium might make the task more difficult.
