After an exciting first week of the NBA season, the action continues Tuesday night with a small four-game NBA DFS slate. The headline matchup for today’s games is the Western Conference Finals rematch between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Below, we will preview games on the NBA DFS slate, plus injury news, NBA projections, and picks and predictions today on PrizePicks. You can find today’s full NBA DFS Projections on the PrizePicks app.

Four of tonight’s eight teams will be on the second leg of a back-to-back — Dallas, Sacramento, Utah, and Denver. Meanwhile, three other teams will start the first leg of a back-to-back: Brooklyn, New Orleans, and Golden State.

These early back-to-backs will be key to look at today with the potential of players likely getting less minutes to get a little more rest.

Mavericks vs. Timberwolves: Time, How to Watch, Location

Time: 7:30 p.m. ET

How to Watch: TNT

The most discussed matchup of the day will be this rematch of the 2024 Western Conference Finals between the Mavericks and the Timberwolves. After dropping their season opener to the Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota has bounced back to win its next two.

Minnesota is still trying to figure out their chemistry after trading Karl-Anthony Towns for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo, but they remain an elite defending team. Minnesota currently ranks eighth in points allowed and top-5 in fantasy points allowed.

The Timberwolves have made it an emphasis to get more threes up this year, averaging 10 more three-points attempted this year compared to last year.

Dallas has so far welcomed the addition of SF Klay Thompson, who provides a bit more consistency scoring in the starting lineup, replacing Tim Hardaway Jr. The Mavericks are roughly on pace to finish as one of the highest volume three-point shooting teams again, but their defense has improved so far.

After finishing last season 20th in points per game allowed, they are seventh in their first few games.

Kings vs. Jazz: Preview, Time, TV

Time: 9 p.m. ET

How to Watch: NBA League Pass

So far in this early season, these two teams rank in the top 10 in pace which means we are likely to see quick possessions and the team running up and down the floor for quick shots. In addition to that, both the Sacramento Kings and Utah Jazz rank bottom 10 in points per game allowed.

The fast nature of both teams partnered with poor defense will definitely mean this is a game to target. To no surprise, the Jazz are giving up the most fantasy points to opposing teams, having conceded at least 110 points to their opponents in all three games so far this season.

NBA DFS Picks Today for PrizePicks

Below, you’ll find the top picks for NBA DFS on PrizePicks today, October 29, including NBA DFS projections.

Kings G De’Aaron Fox vs. Jazz: 10 Rebs+Asts  — More

Kings G De’Aaron Fox draws the best possible matchup against Utah point guards who rank the last in the league in fantasy points and assists allowed to opposing point guards. In the game preview, it was already discussed how this game could be a potential shootout due to poor defense and pace of play.

Fox will have Keyonte George as his primary defender. George has a great offensive game but his defense is severely lacking. Even getting drawn onto Collin Sexton won’t be a problem for the Kings point guard.

Fox has a great history against Utah guards as well over the last two seasons, going more than this number five of six times when George or Sexton were the primary guards defending him.

Fox missed this projection by one last game against Portland where he had six rebounds and three assists. There should be ample opportunity for Fox to set up his teammates.

Timberwolves G Anthony Edwards vs. Mavericks: 38.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts — More

After seeing his team getting eliminated against the Mavericks last year in the playoffs, superstar Anthony Edwards will be looking to put on a show against them. He’ll either get drawn up against Luka Doncic or Kyrie Irving who are subpar defenders, or Klay Thompson who isn’t the defender he once was.

If Dallas puts PJ Washington on Edwards, he could take advantage of other mismatches by setting up his teammates. Dallas ranks bottom-10 in these three major counting stats to opposing shooting guards.

Edwards has soared above his rebound projections early this season. If he has major contributions in rebounds and assists tonight, he could still have an off-shooting night and still be able to clear this projection.

Warriors C Trayce Jackson-Davis vs. Pelicans: 10.5 Points — More

With star point guard Stephen Curry out, plus the potential for Andrew Wiggins to miss the game, the scoring from the Warriors starting lineup will be spread out amongst various players.

Depending on where Jackson-Davis is lined up — potentially power forward or center — he’ll have one of the better matchups in this defensive showdown outside of the point guard position with either Daniel Theis or Zion Williamson guarding him. Jackson-Davis has been quite efficient so far this season, shooting above 70 percent, with two perfect shooting nights already.

The Pelicans rank in the bottom 10 in front court points allowed and second-chance points as well. This will be the shortest front court battle we see in some time with both centers no taller than 6-foot-8.

With no Curry, Golden State would be smart to look to the interior for more points due to the defensive deficiencies of New Orleans in their front court.

Nets/Nuggets G Cam Thomas/Jamal Murray: 4.5 3-Pointers Made (Combo) — More

The Nuggets are struggling to generate offense outside of their starters and needed overtime to defeat a Raptors team that is expected to be toward the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Three-time MVP Nikola Jokic has been scoring much more than he usually does, averaging five more points so far than he has at any point in his career.

For Denver to not be in another dogfight against an Eastern Conference bottom-feeder, they’ll need production from their second star in Jamal Murray.

He has had success against Brooklyn, draining at least four threes in three of their last four meetings. After shooting 0-for-2 from downtown last night, look for him to bounce back tonight.

On the Brooklyn side, they’re getting slightly more threes up this season compared to last and should see even more opportunities for threes today with Ben Simmons being out. SG Cam Thomas is the leader of this team in terms of scoring and has been efficient this season in all of his scoring metrics.

Thomas has attempted at least five three-pointers in every game this season and just like Murray, look for a bounce back after an inefficient last outing where he went 2-for-8.

NBA Injuries Today for DFS

Below, you’ll find the NBA Injuries for October 29, as well as players who could benefit with additional minutes and production for NBA DFS on PrizePicks.

  • Warriors guard Stephen Curry will be out for at least two games and will be reevaluated on Friday after picking up an ankle injury on Sunday. Along with Curry, backup point guard De’Anthony Melton will also be out due to injury. Warriors are also likely to be missing Andrew Wiggins (back). The projected starting point guard will be Brandon Podziemski, though Buddy Hield and Jonathan Kuminga should also see additional usage. The starting lineup will be key for determining where Warriros production comes from tonight.
  • Nets forward Ben Simmons has been ruled out due to injury management. Center Nic Claxton will likely be Simmons’ replacement in the starting lineup. Claxton’s minutes are still being monitored after picking up a hamstring injury in training camp
  • Jazz center Taylor Hendricks is out for the season after suffering a gruesome injury in yesterday’s loss to the Mavericks. Hendricks suffered a fractured right fibula and a dislocated ankle. If backup Drew Eubanks (questionable) is still out due to illness, rookie Kyle Filipowski will be in line for more minutes, and John Collins should garner more usage down low.
