Tennessee vs. Georgia Picks & Predictions for PrizePicks CFB DFS
This SEC showdown is the matchup of the week in college football, as Tennessee takes on Georgia — setting up as a make-or-break for the College Football Playoff.
#12 Georgia is holding onto the last playoff spot after last week’s loss to Ole Miss, and another loss would surely end their National Championship hopes. #7 Tennessee certainly doesn't want a second loss to complicate their Playoff chances, especially since their first was a bad loss to Arkansas.
We will give you four CFB DFS picks for this highly-anticipated SEC matchup between Tennessee vs. Georgia for PrizePicks and CFB DFS, featuring top players and their potential impact on the game, including projections for QBs Carson Beck and Nico Iamaleava.

Georgia comes into this game ranked #12 in the College Football Playoff Rankings and #11 in the AP poll after a 28-10 loss to Ole Miss, during which Georgia only led for the first eight minutes of the game. If Georgia loses this game, the Bulldogs would be eliminated from playoff contention.
Tennessee comes in ranked #7 in the College Football Playoff Rankings and #6 in the AP poll. They have one loss, and a second would take them out of the SEC title race, and likely out of Playoff contention.
Tennessee RB Dylan Sampson 96.5 Rush Yards — More
The Volunteers have questions at quarterback, but there are none at running back. Dylan Sampson is their workhorse and one of the premier backs in the country, ranking seventh in the country with 1,129 rushing yards. He is also one of just four players with 20 or more rushing touchdowns.
Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel has been hesitant to take deep shots throughout the season with QB Nico Iamaleava, relying instead on Sampson to rack up the yards and set up short-yardage situations.
Georgia is 21st in rush yards allowed per game (110.9), but the problem is they haven’t faced a team fully committed to the run that has success like Tennessee. The Bulldogs have faced an average of 33.1 rush attempts per game, while Tennessee ranks third nationally with 46.6 rush attempts per game, trailing only Army and Air Force.
Sampson and this run-heavy offense will wear down Georgia, and he’ll find enough space to go more than this number.
Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava 195.5 Passing Yards — Less
Iamaleava carries a questionable tag into this game, but if he plays, it will be interesting to see how Heupel uses him. Tennessee’s run-heavy strategy has limited Iamaleava’s impact through the air, as he’s only thrown for over 200 yards three times, and just once against an SEC opponent.
He’ll need to pass occasionally to keep Georgia from fully committing to stopping the run. However, the best part of this Tennessee team is that they don’t need to rely on Iamaleava to win games.
This seems like the absolute worst spot for that to change. Expect Iamaleava and the Vols to rely on the run and keep his passing yards number in check.

Georgia QB Carson Beck 0.5 Interceptions — More
Georgia QB Carson Beck is coming off another brutal performance, marking the third time this season he has thrown for less than 200 yards with zero touchdowns. A concerning trend for him is turnovers; he threw an interception for the fourth-straight game and now has 12 over the last six games.
He continues to make decisions with the ball that someone of Beck’s status just can’t make.
This will be a tough test for Beck, as Tennessee ranks second in the SEC in points allowed (12.6) and third in passing yards allowed (171.6).
We’re locking in on turnovers. Georgia has faced four teams with at least 16 takeaways (Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas, Clemson), and Beck has thrown an interception against three of them, and seven interceptions across those three games.
Tennessee will be the fifth team, and they’ll force a turnover or two.
Georgia RB Nate Frazier 59.5 Rushing Yards — More (Goblin)
Georgia RB Trevor Etienne will miss this game for the Bulldogs, but it’s not as significant a loss as you might think. The Florida transfer has a solid 5.0 yards per carry but only on 95 carries, and the team has the second-fewest rush attempts in the SEC (126).
Georgia RB Nate Frazier will step into the feature back role, and he’s also been effective with 4.6 yards per carry.
Tennessee is not a defense you can attack one-dimensionally because they can stop both the run and the pass. If you allow the Vols to focus on stopping one, you won’t move the ball.
That’s why Georgia will aim for a more balanced offense, forcing Tennessee to load the box and opening up opportunities in the passing game for Beck.
Don’t expect a stat-breaking game from Frazier, but he will still contribute, carrying most of the team’s rushes.
