Latest NFL Free Agency Rumors

Here’s what’s happening across NFL free agency, including the latest rumors around the top free agents, with who could be signing where.

Jets Interested in QB Justin Fields

From the looks of it, the Steelers are set to move on from Justin Fields. The team showing the most interest early in free agency seems to be the Jets, who could make Fields a starter. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Fields is waiting to hear their official offer.

The Steelers have also reportedly sent Fields a contract, but he has not responded. Schefter has reported that Fields won’t sign a contract with the Steelers if they aren’t committed to him as their QB1 — so it appears to be about more than money for him.

There are no teams that are in known contention for Fields, at least from reports around the league.

Update: Field has agreed to terms with the Jets — the contract is two-year, $40 million, with $30 million guaranteed. It's possible the Jets could be sigining Fields to be a bridge QB with such a short contract.

Steelers Leading Teams Interested in Aaron Rodgers

The lack of response from Fields may have led to Steelers coach Mike Tomlin looking around in free agency for other options. According to Schefter, the Steelers are emerging as a top option for QB Aaron Rodgers, while they are still interested in Fields and Wilson. According to early reports this offseason, there isn’t a lot of interest in Rodgers after his struggles in New York last season.

49ers Having Conversations with EDGE Joey Bosa

The Chargers have decided to move on from edge rusher Joey Bosa. The 49ers have swooped in and look to be a top suitor for Bosa, who has not played a full season since 2021. Across his last three seasons, Bosa has 14 sacks and four forced fumbles across 28 games.

Chargers, 49ers in Talks with QB Jameis Winston

Jameis Winston's question during Super Bowl Opening Night as to who he should play for should soon have an answer. According to Josina Anderson, the Los Angeles Chargers and San Francisco 49ers are interested in Winston as a backup QB — a position that has seen some big contracts already this season. Winston may also fit as a bridge QB for a team looking to draft their QB of the future.

List of Signings from NFL Free Agency: Live Updates

Here are all of the signings from NFL free agency, including live updates on signings as the news break. Note that “agreed to a deal” means they have not signed with news teams, and cannot officially sign a deal until March 12, at 4 p.m. ET.

  • The Raiders agreed to tarms with S Jeremy Chinn on a two-year, $16 million deal, moving over from the Commanders.
  • The Packers have agreed to sign OG Aaron Banks on a deal worth $77 million over four years.
  • The Bears have agreed to a deal with DT Grady Jarrett on a three-year, $43.5 million deal, less than a day after he was released by the Falcons.
  • The Jaguars agreed to terms with OG Patrick Mekari, formerly of the Ravens.
  • The Seahawks agreed on a contract with QB Sam Darnold, who revived his career in Minnesota last year. The deal is a three-year contract worth $100.5 million, according to Mike Garafolo. The deal includes $55 million guaranteed. The Seahawks should look to add some WR support with D.K. Metcalf now in Pittsburgh.
  • The Cardinals agreed to terms with EDGE Josh Sweat to a four-year, $76.4 million. Sweat was a member of the Eagles during their Super Bowl run. He'll now reuinte with former Eagles DC Jonathan Gannon in Arizona.
  • The Jets agreed to terms with Justin Fields on a two-year, $40 million contract with $30 million guaranteed. His stint in Pittsburgh is officially over.
  • The Bears continued what has been a busy free agency period, as they agreed to terms with EDGE Dayo Odeyingbo on a three-year, $48 million contract. Odeyingbo will play opposite of Montez Sweat.
  • The Steelers agreed to terms with CB Darius Slay, formerly of the Super Bowl champion Eagles. He was released by the Eagles to save cap.
  • Colts agreed to terms with S Camryn Bynum, formerly of the Vikings, on a four-year, $60 million contract. Bynum was widely considered the top safety on the 2025 free agency market.
  • The Bills agreed to a deal with WR Joshua Palmer, formerly of the Chargers. It's a three-year deal worth $36 million.
  • Former Chiefs RB Samaje Perine agreed to a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. It's a two-year contract worth up to $3.8 million.
  • The Broncos agreed to a deal with S Talanoa Hufanga, formerly of the 49ers. Hufanga's deal is a three-year contract worth up to $45 million.
  • The Jaguars agreed to terms with WR Dyami Brown on a one-year, $10 million deal. Brown had a great postseason, putting up 229 yards in three games, however, he's never had more than 308 yards in a single season. It's a shocking figure to see on Brown.
  • The Panthers agreed to a deal with S Tre'von Moehrig on a three-year, $51 million deal worth up to $60 million with incentives. The Raiders lose a key starter on the defensive side, who started 64 games across four years.
  • The Buccaneers agreed to a deal with pass rusher Haason Reddick. The one-year deal is worth $14 million ($12M guaranteed).
  • The Patriots agreed to a deal with former Lions CB Carlton Davis III on a three-year, $60 million deal with $34.5 million.
  • The Titans agreed to a deal with OT Dan Moore Jr. on a four-year, $82 million contract ($50 million guaranteed), making him a top 10 highest paid OT in the NFL.
  • The Chiefs agreed to a deal with LT Jaylon Moore worth $30 million over two years, per Adam Schefter. Out of tackles with 100 snaps last year, Moore graded at the 35th best offensive tackle last year, via PFF.
  • The Patriots agreed to a deal with former Eagles DT Milton Williams, marking the biggest contract in free agency so far. Williams has agreed to a four-year, $104 million deal with $63 million guaranteed.
  • The Commanders agreed to a deal with DT Javon Kinlaw worth $45 million ($30 million guaranteed) over three years.
  • The Patriots agreed to sign LB Robert Spillane on a three-year, $37 million contract.
  • The Vikings signed CB Isaiah Rodgers on a two-year, $15 million deal. Vikings CB Byron Murphy Jr. is a free agent, which could mean he is set to move on in free agency.
  • The Bengals are re-signing DT B.J. Hill on a three-year, $33 million contract, with $16 million guaranteed.
  • The Bears agreed to sign C Drew Dalman on a three-year deal worth $42 million.
  • The Chiefs agreed to sign RB Elijah Mitchell on a one-year deal worth up to $3.5 million.
  • The Buccaneers are re-signing WR Chris Godwin on a three-year, $66 million deal. That’s one of the top free agent wide receivers off the board. Godwin reportedly gave up as much as $20 million elsewhere to stay in Tampa with QB Baker Mayfield, a decision that was likely swayed by the fact that Florida does not have income tax.
  • The Lions are signing CB D.J. Reed on a three-year, $48 million deal, with $32 million guaranteed. Reed has been a starting CB for four years now, and it’s a solid price after they lost CB Darlton Davis, who made $20 million/year with the Patriots.
  • The Texans agreed to terms with WR Braxton Berrios on a one-year, $2 million deal, adding another slot WR after trading for Christian Kirk.
  • The Rams signed WR Davante Adams to a two-year, $46 million deal, less than a week after he was released by the Jets. The Adams signing makes it clear that the Rams are set to move on from WR Cooper Kupp, either via trade or release.
  • The Browns are re-signing edge rusher Myles Garrett to a four-year contract extension, nixing any potential trade talks. Garrett’s deal is worth up to $40 million average salary per year, with $123 million guaranteed.
  • The Bucs re-signed OG Ben Bredeson to a three-year, $22 million contract — a solid price for a reliable piece on the interior.
  • The Texans signed DE Derek Barnett on a one-year, $5 million deal.
  • The Jaguars agreed to a deal with CB Jourdan Lewis, who will be leaving the Dallas Cowboys. According to reports, Lewis will become the NFL’s highest paid nickel cornerback, on a three-year, $30 million contract.
  • The Giants agreed to a deal with CB Paulson Adebo.
  • The Panthers re-signed CB Jaycee Horn to a four-year, $100 million deal — a shocking number for a corner that has only made one Pro Bowl in his first four years (2024).
  • The Chargers re-signed edge rusher Khalil Mack on a one-year deal with $18 million. Mack was a top five pass rusher when he was on the field last year, per PFF. Now, he’ll be on a prove-it deal.
  • The Patriots agreed to terms with OT Morgan Moses on a three-year, $24 million, with incentives making it worth up to $28.5 million.
  • The Vikings re-signed RB Aaron Jones on a two-year, $20 million deal.
  • The Seahawks re-signed LB Ernest Jones IV on a three-year, $33 million contract with $15 million guaranteed.
  • The Commanders re-signed TE Zach Ertz on a one-year, $6.25 million deal. An additional $2.75 million can be earned via incentives, similar to his previous deal.
  • The Rams re-signed backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo on a one-year, $11 million deal — a huge contract for a 33-year-old backup QB.
  • The Ravens re-signed OT Ronnie Staley to a three-year, $60 million contract.
  • The Bengals re-signed TE Mike Gesicki to a three-year, $25.5 million contract, coming off his best year since 2021.

  • The Vikings re-signed S Theo Jackson to a two-year, $12.6 million contract extension.
  • The Buccaneers re-signed LB Lavonte David to a one-year, $10 million deal. David recorded 122 tackles and 5.5 sacks last season.

  • The Chiefs re-signed LB Nick Bolton on a three-year, $45 million contract.

  • The Broncos re-signed QB Jarrett Sidham on a two-year, $12 million contract, as Stidham is now locked into the backup QB job behind Bo Nix.

Lists of Trades from NFL Free Agency

  • The Seahawks traded WR D.K. Metcalf to the Steelers for a 2025 second-round pick. Metcalf will sign a five-year, $150 million extension now that he’s joined. It’s worth keeping an eye on George Pickens, who stirred the pot with the team last time he shared WR1 duties with Diontae Johnson. Pickens is set to make only $3.4 million this year — the last year of his rookie contract — and has had at least 800 yards every season in the NFL.
  • The Seahawks traded QB Geno Smith to the Seahawks in exchange for a third-round pick. Smith is expected to sign a contract extension with his new team.
  • The Jaguars traded WR Christian Kirk to the Texans for a 2026 seventh-round pick. Kirk had only 379 yards in eight games with the Jaguars last year.

List of NFL Players Released before NFL Free Agency

  • Chargers released edge rusher Joey Bosa.
  • Eagles released CB Darius Slay Jr.
  • Falcons released DT Grady Jarrett, saving $16.25 million against the cap.
  • Jaguars released TE Evan Engram.
  • Raiders released C Andre James.
  • Chargers released RB Gus Edwards.
  • Bills released DE Von Miller, who was due to make $17.5 million this year.
