Who Will Run the Fastest 40-Yard Dash? NFL Combine Projections, Picks
The NFL Combine is one of the premiere events of the NFL offseason. Hundreds of NFL prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft will assemble in Indianapolis and participate in a series of events in order to boost their draft stock. We’ve seen a lot of prospects surge as a result of this weekend, while others plummet.
The main event is the 40-yard dash. On Saturday, the skill position players will run their 40s — QBs, RBs and WRs — which is the most anticipated part of the combine. Fans and experts analyze a player’s 40-time, and a good run will get a player noticed. The most notable recent player was Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy, who set the record with 4.21 seconds and helped him become a first-round pick in 2024.
Below, we’ll analyze some of the top RB and WR 40-yard dash time projections for Saturday.
With PrizePicks, you can win real money by picking more or less on players’ 40-yard dash projections for Saturday, March 1. Just pick more or less on their time, lock in your Lineup, and win up to 1000x your money.

Among RBs, Texas RB Jaydon Blue is projected to run the fastest time, at 4.36 seconds. At QB, Alabama QB Jalen Milroe is projected neck and shoulders at the position among players who are projected, set for a 4.42 40-yard dash time.

2025 NFL Combine: 40-Yard Dash Time Projections
Below, find the 2025 NFL Combine 40-yard dash time projections for Saturday, March 1, with analysis for each player.
Georgia WR Arian Smith — 4.29 Seconds
Many scouts predict Georgia WR Arian Smith to put up the best 40-time of the Combine, and PrizePicks has him projected as such.
His experience as an elite track runner will help him in this event and the NFL. In high school, he won a championship in the 200-meter dash and at Georgia he ran a 10.10 in the 100-meter dash, which was better than Worthy’s best ever run (10.65).
We’ve already seen his speed measured when he was clocked at a Senior Bowl best 22.17 MPH.
Texas WR Isaiah Bond — 4.32 Seconds
Isaiah Bond is another one that could possibly break Worthy’s record — mostly according to his own expectations. Bond didn’t play with Worthy in Texas, but he intends to break the record this year. Bond posted on Instagram last year and announced his intention on being the new record holder at the Combine, then he confirmed it during media time this year.
Like many of these fast athletes, Bond was a track star. In his junior year in high school, he won the state 100-meter (10.51 seconds) and 200-meter (21.19) titles.
That speed translated to the football field, as he averaged 15.9 yards per reception and had a 20-plus-yard reception in his final five games.

North Carolina RB Omarion Hampton — 4.46 Seconds
Many scouts have UNC RB Omarion Hampton just behind Ashton Jeanty in the running back ranking for the draft. He finished third in the country with 1,660 rushing yards, and for the second year in a row ran for 5.9 yards per carry.
His former coach Mack Brown says he can clear his 40-yard dash projection at 220 pounds and that his athleticism is “freakish.”
He doesn’t have a quick initial burst, he’s more of a brute back with a great second burst. If he can get close to a 4.40, it could help him sneak into the first round at the NFL Draft.
Colorado WR Jimmy Horn — 4.38 Seconds
Travis Hunter is the most notable wide receiver coming out of Colorado, but the Buffaloes have another receiver that we need to pay attention to.
Horn is another quick receiver whose stellar NFL Combine performance could have his stock to rise. To no surprise, Horn has an extensive track background and won the 4x100 relay at 41.12 seconds, which was a top-10 time nationally.
He had an impressive showing at East-West Shrine Bowl, which included the event’s executive director Eric Galko, nominating Horn as the fastest participant.
Texas RB Jaydon Blue — 4.36 seconds
Many experts are looking at Texas RB Jaydon Blue as a sleeper who will get a lot of attention after this weekend. You guessed it — he was a former high school track star proficient at the 100 and 200 meters.
He has excellent secondary speed; when he gets past the line of scrimmage, he can take off and be hard to catch. We haven’t heard much about him because before this season, he played behind Jonathon Brooks and Bijan Robinson at Texas, but he can make a name for himself this weekend as the running back expected to run the fastest 40-yard dash time.
