Eight teams ranked in the AP Top 25 take the floor tonight, including No. 12 Kentucky and SEC rival No. 6 Tennessee. Elsewhere, No. 11 Kansas looks to get back on track at home against Central Florida following Saturday’s brutal double-overtime collapse against No. 6 Houston.
Today is Taco Tuesday on PrizePicks! If you like what’s on the menu, be sure to throw one of the three discounted player projections into your lineup for a better shot at making some coin. We also dropped our Patrick Mahomes Big Game free pick, so if you’re down to play the long game, more than 0.5 pass yards for the young GOAT is a layup.
Let’s breakdown some of the CBB DFS picks and projections to target for Tuesday, January 28, on PrizePicks.

Tuesday CBB Games to Target for Men’s College Basketball DFS
Here are the two best games to target for CBB DFS fantasy production today, Tuesday, January 28.
No. 12 Kentucky vs. No. 6 Tennessee: Preview, Pick
Time: 7 p.m. ET
How to Watch: ESPN
The No. 12 Kentucky Wildcats (14-3, 4-3) travel to Knoxville to face No. 6 Tennessee (17-3, 4-3). Both teams come in fresh off tough road losses, so the checker-panted squads will be looking to rebound amidst the gauntlet that is the SEC regular season.
The biggest key to this game is Kentucky’s much-maligned defense — ranked 81st in NCAA, per KenPom — and its ability to contain Tennessee’s star PG Zakai Zeigler.
The senior is listed at just 5-foot-9 (I’m hammering "less than" on that one).
Do not let his height fool you: Zeigler is one of the best facilitators in the nation. He has exceptional court vision, tallying 7.5 assists per game, ranking fifth in the nation, and posting the 11th-highest assist rate in the country, per KenPom. Zeigler is the heart and soul of the team; as he goes, so goes the Volunteers' offense.
Per KenPom, Kentucky is listed as the 23rd-tallest team in the country. Transfer guards Jaxson Robinson (6-foot-6) and Kobe Brea (6-foot-8) are expected to defend Zeigler with Lamont Butler out. The big duo are upperclassmen who helped push around a smaller Duke team earlier this season.
Zeigler is very experienced with 66 career starts, and Kentucky’s defense has been extremely suspect lately. Look for Zeigler to avoid tough shots and find standout guard Chaz Lanier and 6-foot-10 potential NBA Draft pick Igor Milicic in the post. While fading his points could be a move, I’ll go with less than 2.5 3-pointers made; Zeigler has eclipsed that number just once since December 3. If you’re looking to double-down on the undersized guard, I’m not mad at more than 8.0 assists.
In what should be one of the best games of the Tuesday slate, I’ll look for the favorite Tennessee to pull away late and get back on track at home, in an 81-72 win.
CBB PrizePicks Pick: Tennessee G Zakai Zeigler 2.5 3-Pt Made — Less
UCF vs. No. 11 Kansas: Preview, Pick
Time: 8 p.m. ET
How to Watch: ESPN
The UCF Knights (13-6, 4-3) travel to Lawrence, Kan., to take on the No. 11 Kansas Jayhawks (14-5, 5-3) Tuesday night.
It’s been a rough couple of days for Kansas fans. Just a few days after being called out by Hall of Fame head coach Bill Self for not bringing enough energy to home games at the daunting Allen Fieldhouse, the Jayhawks blew multiple late leads in regulation and double overtime to drop a heartbreaker to the No. 6 Houston Cougars.
Despite consistently ranking within the top 10 in both the NET rankings and KenPom ratings, Kansas fans have grown frustrated with what should be an elite team. Once-heralded Wisconsin transfer A.J. Storr has been relegated to end-of-bench minutes, and star fifth-year big man (and college basketball villain) Hunter Dickinson has been criticized for his lack of toughness and energy on the interior. The latter should change tonight.
Dickinson destroyed the Knights in the post earlier this month, dropping 27 points and grabbing 9 rebounds in just 24 minutes. Coming off a rare home loss in that game, Kansas absolutely bludgeoned Central Florida, 99-48, on the road in Orlando.
Central Florida, a fringe tournament contender looking to bolster its resume, really struggles with shooting (304th out of 364 in field goal percentage) and ranks just 242nd in rebounding. There should be lots of missed shots to clean up on the boards and limited resistance for the 7-foot-2 unit. Look for the Jayhawks to run it back and get Dickinson involved early and often in the post.
This game most definitely won’t be another 51-point win for the Jayhawks, but it feels like positive regression for a team that folded down the stretch this weekend. They’re too well-coached and too talented to drop an unprecedented third home game this season. Look for Kansas to give its fans something to cheer about. My game prediction: Kansas 84, Central Florida 65.

CBB DFS Picks Today for PrizePicks
Here are three CBB DFS picks to put into your PrizePicks CBB Lineups for today, Tuesday, January 28.
Michigan State G Jeremy Fears 14.5 Pts+Asts — More
The rise of sophomore PG Jeremy Fears is an incredible story for the No. 7 Michigan State Spartans. After being shot in the leg in December 2023, Fears has worked his way back onto the court and into the hearts of Spartans fans. Coming off one of his worst performances of the season, Fears could be in for a big game against a Minnesota team that allows plays to develop, ranking 277th in opponent assists per game. The Big Ten-leading Spartans have a balanced offensive attack, but Fears is typically at the center of the action as the team’s primary facilitator. Let’s ride Fears tonight.
Layup CBB Pick: Georgia F Asa Newell 9.5 Points — More (Goblin)
Georgia star freshman Asa Newell is doing his part to get the Bulldogs back to the tournament for the first time since 2015. Newell is averaging 15.1 points per game and has been a model of consistency for the Bulldogs on offense, recording double-digit points in 18 of 20 games this season. One of those games just happens to be this past weekend’s blowout loss at No. 5 Florida. Look for the big man to bounce back in an important home game against South Carolina.
Note: Goblin picks reduce your payout on PrizePicks, as they are easier projections to hit.
Half-Court Shot: Marquette F Ben Gold 9.5 Points — More (Demon)
If you’re looking for more of a half-court shot for a bigger payout, take a look at Marquette’s Ben Gold. He’s averaging a modest 8.4 points per game, and his projection for tonight’s game at Butler is 8.5 points. His Demon square is just 1.5 points higher, meaning an extra basket (or two extra free throws) will help him cash. More of a gut instinct here, but definitely a play worth monitoring tonight.
Note: Demon picks add a payout boost to your lineup on PrizePicks, as they are more difficult projections to hit.
