Matchups to Target in Week 2 for PrizePicks and DFS

49ers vs. Vikings — 1 p.m. ET

Aaron Jones will play a crucial role in keeping the aggressive 49ers defense in check. Establishing the run game is vital against the 49ers, as their pass rush can be overwhelming. Last week, Jones had 14 carries against the Giants, and historically, when he gets at least 13 carries, he's been highly effective.

In his last 20 games dating back to the 2021 season, Jones has surpassed his 50.5 rushing yard projection 19 times, a 95% success rate. Notably, against the 49ers in both 2021 and 2024, Jones exceeded this mark, rushing for 82 and 108 yards, respectively.

In the pass game with a tough matchup, it's worth noting Justin Jefferson's performance in losses. Since the 2021 season, Jefferson has failed to surpass his 80.5 receiving yards projection in 11 out of 20 games when the Vikings lose, making it a trend worth considering.

More importantly, in Week 1, Jefferson had a highly favorable matchup against a weak New York Giants secondary but only managed 59 receiving yards on six targets, despite playing 85% of the snaps. This total included a single 44-yard reception, further highlighting his struggles to consistently produce in that game.

PrizePicks to Consider: Aaron Jones MORE than 50.5 Rush Yards / Justin Jefferson LESS than 79.5 Receiving Yards

Seahawks vs Patriots — 1 p.m. ET

In Week 1, we saw an unusually high workload for New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson, with 25 rushing attempts — nearly double his average of 12 attempts over his last 20 games dating back to 2022.

If Stevenson gets 14 carries — 11 fewer than his Week 1 total — he still stands a strong chance to exceed his 64.5 rushing yard projection. He has hit that mark in 11 of his last 16 games, a 69% success rate.

Additionally, the Seattle defense struggled against the Denver Broncos middling backfield in Week 1, allowing 4.0 yards per carry, which could open the door for Stevenson to have another productive game on the ground.

As for the receiving game, WR K.J. Osborn played just 62% of the snaps last week against Cincinnati, indicating he's not a key part of the offense at this point. During his time on the field, he managed only three catches for 21 yards on 14 passing snaps — running as the WR4.

Based on last week’s strategy in coach Jerod Mayo’s first game, we can expect the Patriots to lean more on their run game, which may further limit Osborn's chances of exceeding 25 receiving yards.

Expect the Patriots to keep this game close, pound the rock with Stevenson, which will limit opportunities for Osborn.

PrizePicks to Consider: Rhamondre Stevenson MORE than 63.5 Rush Yards / K.J. Osborn LESS than 24.5 Receiving Yards

Best OL/DL Matchups to Target: Week 2

Titans OL vs Jets DL

The Jets' defensive line showed significant weaknesses in stopping both the run and generating a pass rush in Week 1 against 49ers. They allowed third-string running back Jordan Mason to rush for over 140 yards, with the 31st ranked run defense grade on PFF.

In addition, they struggled to contain QB Brock Purdy, who threw for nearly 250 yards. This lackluster performance can be attributed to the absence of their top edge rusher, offseason acquisition Haason Reddick, who is currently holding out for a new contract. Without Reddick, the Jets were forced to rely on second- and third-string defensive linemen.

The young but talented Tennessee Titans' offensive line — featuring recent first-round picks J.C. Latham from Alabama and Peter Skoronski from Northwestern — is poised to dominate this weakened Jets defense. Despite their Week 1 loss to the Bears, the Titans' offensive line was impressive, creating 5.4 yards per carry for their running backs and allowing a 60% completion rate for their quarterback against a tough Chicago defense.

Look for Titans running back Tony Pollard, who averaged 5.0 yards per carry and racked up nearly 100 yards in Week 1, to have another strong performance against this weakened and injury-riddled Jets defense.

PrizePicks to Consider: Tony Pollard MORE than 49.5 Rush Yards

Chargers DL vs Panthers OL

Panthers QB Bryce Young is still struggling to find his footing in the NFL behind an inexperienced offensive line. This week, Young faces a formidable Chargers pass rush, led by veteran defensive ends Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa.

In Week 1, the Chargers' defensive line overwhelmed the Raiders, forcing three turnovers (two fumbles and one interception) and recording four sacks on their way to the sixth-best pass rush grade in Week 1. Both Mack and Bosa notched a sack each and combined for over 10 tackles.

Young managed just 161 passing yards while throwing two interceptions and taking four sacks against the Saints middling pass rush unit. The Carolina Panthers' offensive line struggled significantly, and Young struggled to move around the pocket comfortably — expect that trend to continue.

Young should face heavy pressure once again, making him a prime target for underperforming his passing yard projections.

PrizePicks to Consider: Bryce Young LESS than 192.5 Pass Yards

Best WR/CB Matchups to Target: Week 2

Commanders WR Terry McLaurin vs Giants CB Deonte Banks

In Week 1, the Giants' secondary allowed Vikings backup quarterback Sam Darnold to post a solid performance with 8.7 yards per attempt, 2 touchdowns, and over 200 passing yards.

Former first-round cornerback Deonte Banks struggled significantly, giving up nearly 20 yards per reception and a passer rating of over 130 on three receptions from five targets, ranking him among the worst-performing corners in Week 1.

Now, Banks faces a tough challenge in veteran wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who saw five targets in his first game of the season and will continue to be a safety blanket for rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.

PrizePicks to Consider: Terry McLaurin MORE than 51.5 Receiving Yards

Ravens WR Zay Flowers vs Raiders CB Jack Jones

The Las Vegas Raiders will have their hands full trying to stop the Baltimore Ravens' punishing rushing attack, featuring newly acquired Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson. This will likely force the Raiders to load the box with eight defenders, further exposing their vulnerable secondary.

Cornerback Jack Jones, a fourth-round pick out of Arizona State, will be tasked with covering the speedy Zay Flowers, who was targeted three times in Week 1. Adding to the issue, the safety support behind Jones — Marcus Epps and Trevon Moehrig — has been subpar to start the season, ranking 60th and 64th out of 72 safeties in coverage, respectively.

Look for Ravens WR Zay Flowers to get a ton of looks in Week 2, putting a ton of stress on this weak Raiders secondary.

PrizePicks to Consider: Zay Flowers MORE than 54.4 Receiving Yards

Best Touchdown Scorer Targets on PrizePicks: Week 2

Buccaneers WR Mike Evans

The Mike Evans and Baker Mayfield touchdown connection remains strong despite the Buccaneers getting a new offensive coordinator this offseason. In Week 1, Evans was targeted six times, catching five passes, including two touchdowns.

The 6-foot-5 veteran has an appealing red zone matchup against Lions rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold, who stands at just 6-foot, giving Evans a significant 5-inch height advantage.

This is crucial, as the Lions play a man-heavy defense, often leaving Evans in one-on-one situations with the smaller Arnold in the end zone. In Week 1, Arnold allowed 8-of-10 targets to be completed, resulting in a passer rating of over 90.

Look for the one-on-one end zone targets to come Mike Evans' way in Week 2.

Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

After a quiet rookie debut, first-round pick Marvin Harrison Jr. will look to get back on track in a favorable matchup against Rams cornerback Tre'Davious White, who is also coming off an ACL tear last season.

In the Week 1 matchup against Jameson Williams, White allowed over 100 receiving yards. In Week 1, White was also targeted three times, allowing two receptions for an average of 26 yards per catch — the Lions had their way with him.

Despite Harrison hauling in only one reception in Week 1, he was targeted three times, and was wide open for the game-winning touchdown. This matchup presents a prime opportunity for the rookie to score his first career touchdown.

Harrison’s Rush+Rec TD projection (0.5) is a Demon pick on PrizePicks, meaning it will boost the payout of your lineup.
