When is Jon Jones Next Fight? Jones Record, Height, Weight
Widely regarded as the greatest fighter of all time, Jon “Bones” Jones will enter the octagon for just the second time since his activity fell off a cliff back in early 2020 when he fights Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. Find out more about Jon Jones’ next fight below, as well as his record, height, weight, and more.
It’s no secret UFC CEO Dana White believes Jones to be the best fighter of all time, even including non-UFC fighters at their prime such as boxer Mike Tyson. “When you talk about putting [any] two guys in a room… Who comes out… Jon Jones has the tools to beat everybody,” White said.
So what freak of nature competitor gave him his one loss on his 27-1 record? The UFC promotes him as undefeated, but retains the loss next to his name outside of marketing efforts. So where does that questionable loss come from?
We’ll dive into it in this article, along with details around his next fight vs. Stipe Miocic, and everything you need to know about the current UFC Heavyweight Champion.

What is Jon Jones Record?
If you ask the UFC, Jon Jones holds an official record of 27-1 (one no-contest), but “Bones” has long argued that he should be undefeated, maintaining a record of 27-0-1, potentially even 28-0 in his eyes. So why the debate?
The single loss on Jones' record came in 2009 against Matt Hamill during "The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights" finale. In a vicious dominant performance, Jones was disqualified for using illegal downward elbows.
The fight ended controversially, with many in the MMA community viewing the DQ as an unfortunate technicality rather than a true loss. Outside of this DQ, Bones has never lost an MMA fight.
Who is Jon "Bones" Jones? Height, Weight, & Age
Jon Jones is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion and one of the most accomplished fighters in MMA history.
Known for his incredible reach (tied for 2nd longest all-time), dynamic striking, and wrestling prowess, Jones has been a permanent fixture among the top ranked pound-for-pound fighters globally since his emergence onto the scene in 2008.
Jon Jones Record: 27-1 (1 NC)
Jon Jones Weight: 248 lbs. (Heavyweight)
Jon Jones Age: 37
Jon Jones Height: 6-foot-4
Jon Jones Reach: 84.5 inches
Starting his career in the UFC at the young age of 21, Jones quickly became a phenom, breaking records as the youngest UFC champion in history. It took just six UFC fights for all the proof you needed he was deserving of championship status, and seven to claim the belt.
At just 23 years old he became champion, and that was just the beginning. Now, 13 years later, Jones is considered a generational talent.
Why Does Jon Jones Not Count His "Loss"?
During his fight with Hamill, Jones delivered multiple nasty elbows while in top position, completely dominating the bout until referee Steve Mazzagatti stopped the fight due to the illegal elbows, resulting in a DQ loss.
The 12-to-6 elbow rule — the reason for the disqualification, — has long been a point of debate in MMA, with many fighters and fans questioning its relevance and the difficulty to differ what’s legal vs. what is 12-to-6 live. So much so that the elbows that have long blemished Jones' record are now fully legal as of November 1, 2024.
Jones and his supporters often argue that his DQ loss shouldn't detract from his otherwise perfect record. Jones and many fans of the sport are hopeful the commission will one day overturn the loss as if he was to throw those same elbows tomorrow, it would not be an issue.
After this incident however, Jones continued to dominate, winning four straight and obtaining the belt before achieving 15 consecutive title fight wins across the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions — the most in UFC history.
The no contest on his record, another arguable blemish, is from his 2017 knockout win against Daniel Cormier. It was later overturned as a NC because Jones tested positive for the anabolic steroid turinabol. The amounts found were so trace, that just a year later under new guidelines that amount would not have led to the issue or a ban.
One thing’s for certain: these two fights may not be a win on paper, but he dominated both men from start to finish, and could easily be 29-0.

Who Does Jon Jones Fight Next?
Stipe Miocic will be Jones' next opponent in the UFC Heavyweight Championship bout. Miocic is a formidable wrestler and power puncher known as the most decorated heavyweight in UFC history.
With a professional record of 20-4, Miocic is best known for his two victories over legend Daniel Cormier in their trilogy bouts, along with boasting the most ever KOs in Heavyweight Title fights and most Heavyweight Title defenses.
The showdown between Jones and Miocic has long been anticipated, originally slated for November 2023. For Jones, it's a chance to solidify his heavyweight legacy and show the world he’s still got it, while Miocic looks to reclaim the belt and etch his name further into MMA history and the Heavyweight GOAT discussion.
Many believe Jones has far more to lose and far less to gain in this matchup.
What should Jon Jones’ record be?
With both of the non wins on his record now being things that would not yield the same results due to the overturning of the 12-to-6 elbow rule, and drug testing guidelines changing — Jones deserves to be ordained undefeated.
PrizePicks currently has Jon Jones projected for 40.5 Significant Strikes, 2 Takedowns, a 117.5 Fantasy Score, and the Fight Time at 9.75 Minutes for his Championship fight against Stipe Miocic. Jones is a massive favorite to win the fight against Miocic.
