Astros P Hunter Brown 15.5 Outs — MORE 

Time: 2:35 p.m. ET

Astros starting pitcher Hunter Brown has consistently surpassed his 15.5 outs projection in his last 20 starts, exceeding it in 19 of those 20 games. In his most recent start against the Detroit Tigers, Brown went for 21 outs, easily surpassing his projection.

Today, Brown faces a lineup with six left-handed hitters from the Tigers. This season, in 380 plate appearances, Brown has allowed just a 5.5% barrel rate versus lefty hitters, demonstrating his ability to limit hard contact and handle himself well against lefties.

Royals LF MJ Melendez 0.5 Total Bases — MORE (Goblin)

Orioles starter Zach Eflin has struggled significantly against left-handed hitters in his last 60 plate appearances, allowing a near 60% barrel rate, a 43% hard-hit percentage, and a weak 8% swinging strike percentage. 

Eflin's primary pitch to lefties is his fastball-cutter combination, which he throws 41% of the time, 

That sets up Royals’ outfielder MJ Melendez to have a potentially big day. 

Melendez, a lefty, has slashed right-handed cutters this season for a 33% flyball rate, a 61% hard-hit percentage, and a 13% barrel rate in limited plate appearances, making him a strong candidate for success against Eflin.

Another Royals left-handed hitter to keep an eye on is Vinnie Pasquantino, who has performed well against right-handed cutters. In 40+ plate appearances this season, Pasquantino has posted a 30% flyball rate, a 61% hard-hit percentage, and a 5% barrel rate, making him another threat against Eflin's cutter-heavy approach.

Look for the pair of lefties in Pasquantino and Melendez to have themselves a day today.

Mets SS Francisco Lindor 2.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs — MORE (Demon)‍

Brewers pitcher Frankie Montas has struggled mightily against both righties and lefties in his last 105 plate appearances, allowing a 20% barrel rate, a 55% hard-hit percentage, and a 31% flyball rate.

Nimmo has also excelled against right-handed fastballs in 180 plate appearances, with a 33% flyball rate, a 60% hard-hit percentage, and a 9% barrel rate, further highlighting his ability to handle fast pitches effectively.

As noted, those are Montas’ go-to pitches. Nimmo should be able to get a hit in this favorable matchup.
